SILKRL063 :: Nigel Good - One Minus Space

Nigel Good's latest contribution to our imprint, "One Minus Space," is the ebullient first single from his forthcoming "Nothing Out Here" artist album. Already pegged as one of the release highlights of 2014 on Silk's calendar, Nigel's album features a diverse collection of melodies and grooves. Yet, "One Minus Space" offers a fair representation of the overall uplifting flavor that imbues the entire album.

Already receiving a great response on YouTube via an early "teaser" video, this euphonious new cut begins with only a suspenseful lead chord progression and a delicate piano riff. An energetic progressive house rhythm emerges at the quarter turn, which leads the listener into the main break. All of the melodic elements, including the emotive piano chords, reach their full crescendo at this juncture, and newly added string effects are equally climactic. In the latter half of the track, Nigel spices up the soundscape with his signature vox stabs.

Nigel Good - One Minus Space [Silk Royal]

Here at Perplexity Music, we our extremely proud to introduce our first release on the label after months of waiting. As our aim is to become the pinnacle of melodic progressive house music, what better way than to start it of with a tremendous 4 track EP from the sensational Alex H. The Perth based producer has been climbing up the progressive ladder since 2012 & his remarkable talent can be heard instantly so take a moment to revel in the delight that is music for the soul. 

The first release of the EP, "No Turning Back" is a delectable vocal masterpiece that locks into the core of our emotions & expands in our minds. Comprised  up of tantalizing chords that emit solid & crisp sounds, steady kicks & brilliant melodies, the overall atmosphere is one that is vibrant & striking. The soothing warm vocals provided by Mona Moua blend perfectly with the flow of the production & the deliverance of the thought provoking lyrics are conveyed so beautifully.

Next up in this quality package is another out of this world collaboration & again, with another master of melodies that is Netherland sensation Roald Velden. Also having worked together previously, more prominently on Roald's album, the blend of these talents has earned a great following due to the pure emotion & the top notch effort & time they put into their productions. Prepare to delve into a journey of warm, blissful & magical textures that swoop right in the moment you press play. That's right, it really is that astounding.  With the colorful combination of the melodic elements, the superb heart felt sounds flow freely in a mix up relaxed percussion work & sweet piano lines once again. 

Last but not least is a huge collaboration with the gifted French talent James Woods so you know you’re in for a dynamic experience with "Atitlan". Having worked on the smashing release "Guadalupe" earlier this year, the outcome of what these two producers create is an explosion of luscious sound & this time is no different. Keeping with the gorgeous melody arrangements, the signature sounds of both can be heard so remarkably such as the luring piano lines pressed side by side powerful chord progressions. Add in the subtle female harmonized vocals that tie the production together & you have this easy on the ears, laid back production. 

As well as the 3 magnificent productions,  "No Turning Back" also has a dub version which is the last release on the EP & this is for those that want to create their own moving story in the minds & with the melodic elements like more evident, that'll be easy to get lost into. 
This is just an small insight as to what to expect from us so we hope you'll stick around and support us through the exciting times ahead. UK’s Daniel Cattlin, more known to all of us through his Intrinity moniker returns to our PHW imprint with a 3 track EP called “Insignificance”. As it should, this is also the opening production on this sun drenched EP from the young UK citizen. With his great ability to write emotional melodic productions with a warm touch that makes us dream away for the summer, he once more proves what a great producer he is. This is as warm as it gets, and he is really delivering a warm production that gives us all the pictures of sunny skies, white beaches and blue skies with this great act.

The 2nd production on the EP is another fine melodic progressive beast from Daniel with warm and emotional melodic hooks that evolves over and over again. This one called “Catching Raindrops” is another smooth and melodic journey of progressive sounds that we are certain will catch your attention.

“The finale” on this weeks release on PHW brings on one more of Daniels melodic productions as this one, baptized as “Beginnings” is a driving piece of melodic structures with some more drive and bounce than the previous 2 on the EP. Though we still feel a great touch as always from him, with pounding melodic arrangements that is so warm and uplifting, we absolutely love it and we do hope you all will take this EP on and treat your ears with it.

The first of the two delectable releases is the beautiful 'Memories', soft, light & absolutely  mesmerizing in its structuring. The heart warming chords signify the purity of the sounds & that mixed in with the equally mellow percussion work speaks wonders in how the sounds reach us internally, a paroxysm of emotions lured right out of us. The well places vocal chops fit perfectly, bringing in a color of summer & a dash of comfort. Memories are a trait that we as humans can savor or wish to forget, the inexplicable nature of it can make or break us & this incredible release is one that will be sure to make anyone seek positivity instantly. 

The second delightful release for you all is the mysteriously titled 'Paradox'. The word itself brings on a bout of wonder, meaning & contradiction. One thing is clear, the thrilling beauty of this track is no question at all. Amazingly well composed piano lines flow dynamically alongside the majestic chord work, formulating tantalizing melodies for us to delve into. The power of each sound will hit you like  thunder, which is then soothed by the lovely padded percussion work, highlighting the softer nature of this sensational production. Life itself is indeed a paradoxical entity but pieces of breathtaking compositions as this just adds in that light that guides us through. 

It was a pleasure for us to be able to share these 2 incredible releases from a producer that can only grow in his talents & the ability of finding those sweet sounds that we all can't escape, nor would we want to that is. For it is music that binds us & our desires as people, for it is unity that brings us out of the darkest moments. Ultimately, for it is the one thing that radiates from our souls. Slovakian producers Mark & Lukas have a clear knack for sound design, and this is shown in great detail with their 'Colours Of Life EP'.

'Colours Of Life' features sensitive melodic ostinatos that work together effortlessly to create a lush, intricate soundscape that is full of optimism and vitality. The guys' fresh angle on the relaxed progressive sound is exciting to hear when it comes in the form of tracks as special as this one. Over on side B is 'The Echo Of The Mountains' which takes a colder approach with glassy atmospheric FX and cool chord swells, as well as live guitars, skilled piano performances, and a strong, pulsing offbeat bassline for good measure.
