East Cafe - Battery Is High - Kyotto Remix

Next up, we welcome Simos Tagias to the label with the 'Mantis EP'. 

A prolific producer, Simos Tagias has released with everyone from FSOE and UV to Replug and Mango Alley. Based in northern Greece, he made his breakthrough with Lynx Records a decade ago, and has gone on to create an enviable back catalogue with support across the progressive scene from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Cid Inc.  and more. 

Opening with lead track, 'Mantis', we are quickly swept up in Simos' epic soundscape. Dirty bass and gunshot stabs playfully work against shakers and sidechained pads growing the tension over time. Midway, new synthlines add meat to the bones of this chunky groover before the main break cools things off a touch. 

'Daydreamer' begins apace with gated bass and eerie atmospheres. Dark and moody, the sound design creates powerful mental images as the tracks takes hold. Closing the EP, the tribal rhythms of 'Breath' feel extra funky. Synth washes and sparse percussion give the track acres of space to breathe(!) creating a light breezy vibe. Solid work from one of the scene's unsung heroes.

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint opens the month of October with a new EP from DJ Choopie and Golan Zocher. The former, based in Israel lays claim to over two decades of production work and releases via long standing imprints such as Bedrock and Yoshitoshi. Meanwhile, Colombian born, Israel based artist Golan Zocher has enjoyed similar success across his five-year career, landing releases via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Beatfreak and Clubsonica Records. Having been occasional studio partners for some time, Choopie and Golan have collaborated on projects for Mango Alley, Sol Selectas and Choopie's Agnosia Black imprint. Also calling Sound Avenue affiliate 3rd Avenue home, the duo now steps up to Sound Avenue for a three track showcase entitled 'Amirim'.

Not only do we have a new release coming up this week on the label, as we also do have the pleasure to have an artist that is brand new to the scene, US bound producer, Mark Digital. Mark has been working in silence with his music for a time now, and now he felt he is ready to go and showcase his music to the world, and we couldn’t agree more on that from the label as well. 

“Static Collision” as the first track is named is a tight sounding progressive house production, filled with cool wobbling bass lines, emotional melodic hooks and a string of majestic effects to keep this production going from start to finish, it’s definitely one for the floors.

The second submission to the release, named as “722” is a more “sunshine” driven production, packed with melodic lines and smooth vocal chops to spice this track up. It’s a lively act from the US bound producer and we are both happy for, and certain about that this is just the beginning for this artist. 

We do hope you enjoy both these gems and will help this producer come a bit further on his musical journey.

Silk Music welcomes Russian singer and songwriter DASHANIKON, who showcases her unique voice with "Somebody Like You." On remix detail, we welcome back venerable label residents LTN (Indonesia) and Cloudive (Russia), who provide soulful and evocative progressive and deep house remixes.

Up first is LTN's 'Sunrise' Vocal Remix, which takes off on a soothing note -- blissful, subtle piano notes and calm percussion elements create a hypnotizing soundscape. DASHANIKON's beautiful vocals blend perfectly well with the different melodic layers, and numerous synth variations and sound effects spice up the mix even more.

Cloudive's take includes strong percussion lines, mesmerizing synth stabs, and brilliant vocal textures. In the main break, we witness fascinating melodies with DASHANIKON's gorgeous vocals on top. Later, a groovy and joyful theme lead starts to dominate the mix, taking the song to another level.

The Original Mix of "Somebody Like You" begins with an absolutely stunning soundscape. DASHANIKON's captivating vocals are on full display here, with numerous variations and layers. Later, a subtle breakbeat is introduced, accompanied by lush piano strokes and great percussion textures.

Onedotsixtwo continues to strike whilst the Progressive House iron is well and truly molten hot. Our 27th release bears the fruit of a magical meeting of minds, namely Australian favourite Matter & Sri Lanka's Prince of Prog, Dimuth K, with their Road to Stanton Moor EP.

Matty and Dim deliver two absolute belters for this release. The lead track 'Road to Stanton Moor' is a deep and throbbing builder with tight percussion and eerie effects layers that float in and out of the track, as it rockets towards a momentous breakdown that's guaranteed to send any dancefloor (or, right now, living room) sideways.

The AA side 'Exhale' packs a progressive punch in equal measure, built around beautifully crafted synth lines and infectious melodies with some serious low end rigour for late night moments. Exhale made its debut at Woodstock 69 in 2019, grace a our old friend Hernan Cattaneo, and it's been that elusive 'ID-ID' ever since, popping up in numerous sets from Hernan and Nick Warren since last summer.
