Following the massive success of Omniverse, which saw support from some of the biggest names in the scene and reached the Beatport progressive house Top 10, Second Sine returns to Yomo Records with a stunning 3-track EP.

I Was There is a driving progressive gem featuring Andrej's signature sounds including heavy percussion, techy stabs, and atmospheric textures atop an irresistible groove.

Tape Wreck is even more on the techy side of the genre and immediately grabs you with its rolling bassline and cavernous synth stabs. The break with its haunting, complex harmonies allows you to take a little breather before the pounding beats drop back in again.

Within My Heart once again showcases Second Sine's immens production skills. With its lush, almost housey chords and sprinkles of reversed saxophone the track is a deeper affair, yet with enough punch to keep you going on the dancefloor.

The latest release from Clubsonica Records finds the label showcasing the 2022 edition of its MMW Sampler. Long a testing ground for some of the underground's freshest new music, Miami Music Week sees artists, DJs, labels and industry brands travelling to the long-standing event, searching for what will be the spring and summer seasons biggest records. The global pandemic cancelled the event's previous two years but now with the world opening back up, the 2022 installment moves forward with great anticipation. Pre-covid 19, the MMW Sampler was a staple in Clubsonica's release schedule, and now makes a triumphant return with exciting new music from (in order of appearance): Alex Bessofen and Pablo Arbelaez, Andre Moret and NAHS, Emegepe, Mir Omar and Ric Niels.

Opening the release are Alex Bessofen and Pablo Arbelaez. Also finding favour with world class DJ Hernan Cattaneo, Alex and Pablo continue on an upwards trajectory with 'Mezcal'. Aimed squarely at a peak time dance floor, the duo marries electric rhythms and striking percussion with driving beats and pulsating grooves. A stunning array of effects delights across the first act, sweeping in and out of the stereo-field as crunchy arps add texture and momentum leading into the second of two breaks. Rising modulation continues to elevate mood as the interlude builds to a sonic sizzle, before giving way to a vortex of noise as the groove drops for a thumping finale.

Selection two finds Andre Moret alongside NAHS. Now, joining forces for the first time, Clubsonica serves as the perfect landing spot for the duo's collaboration entitled 'Brava'. Deep and fluid throughout, the duo's sleek designs are mysterious yet hopeful, tactfully merging for a momentous mindset-style groover. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, the main break adds colour through arpeggiated phrasing and cinematic overlays, gently building anticipation onwards to a glowing apex and purring final movement.

Next up is Emegepe. Presenting his first project of 2022, Emegepe now makes his Clubsonica debut with 'Multicoloured Puff'. Played out over eight minutes, its tightly-knit groove and hypnotic rhythms set the foundation for an evolving atmospheric narrative. Ghostly wails and timeless chord stabs come in waves across the first act, playing off layers of driving percussion, while sweeping effects carry into the main break. Stripping down to a cavernous ambience, the interlude builds anticipation through striking overlays and colourful arps, before giving way to a stripped-down drop and intoxicating finale.

The sampler's lone remix is provided by Mir Omar. Now with the demand for new material at an all-time high, Mir makes his Clubsonica debut with a gorgeous rendition of 'Induction' by Mental Order and Tim Othy. Opting for a bigger, more peak-time approach, the American artist focuses on a strong rhythmic narrative, with layers of hip-swinging percussion and buoyant tonal themes fueling its infectious drive. Landing in a timely fashion, the main break resonates with great strength, juxtaposing shape-shifting atmospheres over warm sub bass, onwards to a driving finale.

The release concludes in fine style with Ric Niels. Ric returns to round out the MMW Sampler with 'Who Knows'. Well in line with the previous selections, its striking beats and free flowing, energetic style conjures up colourful clubland images. A marriage of trippy effects and driving percussion blankets a tight, compact groove, perfectly setting the stage for a cascading lead theme. The main break is set to delight dance floors with its whimsical charm and mesmerizing build, the latter of which smoothly shifts energy into a chunky, percussive finale. Mature and well composed, it rounds out an excellent 2022 edition of Clubsonica's MMW Sampler, one where a combination of new and veteran talent come together for several magical moments.

Clubsonica Records opens the spring season by welcoming Abity to the label. Hailing from Argentina, José Duque and Bruno Signorelli make up the Abity production team. The Rosario natives have been collaborating and creating their brand of progressive music for well over a decade. The Nick Warren favourites have showcased their music via Roger Martinez's Higher States, Antrim's Or Two Strangers and Proton's Particles. With 2022 beginning with a well-received EP for Golden Wings Music, Abity now makes their Clubsonica debut with 'Sinerxia | Lotus', alongside remixes from Zankee Gulati and Mass Digital.

Drawing on a variety of smooth rhythmic concepts, the EP begins with 'Sinerxia'. On a backbone of warm beats comes mounds of perfectly contoured bass and a lively percussive cadence. Fluid and buoyant in equal measure, an evolving atmospheric glow encases the framework, as vibrant arps and effervescent effects unite in a perfect sonic marriage. The narrative shifts as emotive chord changes initiate the main break, with buzzing sonics and processed guitars gently rising alongside wavy motifs as the beats drop for a spirited finale. The companion piece 'Lotus' continues the progressive minded vibes of its predecessor. As the journey commences delicate arps and spacey effects sit atop a mountainous groove and rolling rhythms. Balmy overlays and percolating effects elevate mood as the first act evolves, perfectly setting the stage for buzzing lines to push momentum into the break. Furthering its emotive appeal, the centrepiece melts down into a heartfelt melody; reflective in nature, the cascading theme delivers impassioned moments, perfectly setting up an understated drop as the groove gallops towards a stirring final movement.

Providing the lone interpretation of 'Sinerxia' is Zankee Gulati. Based in Australia, the progressive music phenom has enjoyed a steady rise since first emerging in 2017. Highly regarded imprints such as Mango Alley and The Soundgarden have served as landing spots for Zankee's groovy sound, while genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J have championed his work along the way. Taking inspiration from the original, Zankee flexes his free-thinking muscles and crafts a version that lands comfortably between the surreal and exotic. Neatly manicured percussion and a creamy, hip-swinging groove set the course for a transcendent lead theme, which ultimately highlights the journey. Coming to full fruition across the second of two breaks, tension rises through tasteful modulation, while never letting go of its tranquil vibration, pushing onwards to a glowing finale.

The release concludes with Mass Digital providing the lone interpretation of 'Lotus'. Highly regarded in the world of organic house, the Serbian artist boasts an impressive discography highlighted by releases via Akbal Music, All Day I Dream, Hoomidaas, Sol Selectas and TRYBESof. As a favourite of Above and Beyond, Lee Burridge and Hernan Cattaneo, Mass Digital now makes his Clubsonica debut with a stylish rendition of 'Lotus'. From warm, rhythmic beginnings comes redolent themes and heartfelt sonics. Gentle flutters build and atmospheres emerge, perfectly setting stage for joyous strings which ultimately lead into the break. A spoken word narrative and dulcet piano add nicely to the journey as the centrepiece evolves, before smoothly segueing into a finale which is sure to send people home with a smile. It's this tasteful amalgamation of grandiose themes which proves most captivating perhaps, touching the listener with moments of hope and reflection, as a bed of dusty beats and organic percussion translates that message to the dancefloor. A touching interpretation from Mass Digital, which rounds out a memorable Clubsonica debut for himself, Zankee Gulati and Abity. Highly recommended.

An iconic figure within the underground dance fraternity for over a decade, Rich Curtis makes his Meanwhile debut with an iconic track in the shape of “Square Root (’21 Salute)”.

Rich Curtis has been a regular on an array of blue-chip labels over the course of a stellar career which has seen releases on Sudbeat Music, Tulipa Recordings, Proton Music and Replug. Indeed, it was the Cid Inc. owned imprint that Curtis made his 2010 debut with “Square Root”. Now reprising the track with a 2022 makeover, the “(’21 Salute)” is a rich and textured affair that retains all the melodic hallmarks of the original while updating the sound with beautifully woven new motifs and sparking arpeggio. Sounding bright and warm in the spring sun, Rich Curtis has breathed new life into his renowned track.

Another artist with an impressive portfolio of music to his name and reputation to match, Alex O’Rion has found his work allied to a host A-list imprints including the likes of Replug, Sudbeat Music and Guy J’s Lost & Found. A regular contributor to Meanwhile with 2021’s “Echium” EP and remixes for GMJ & Matter’s “Gauntlet”, The Dutch master returns to the label with a typically evocative offering. Making beautiful use of Curtis’ original components they are complemented with a slew of additional production material that extends his remix with spine-tingling new melodies that blossom in the breakdown and second half. A hefty rhythmic backdrop and ticking percussive groove add further to the powerful new interpretation.

Returning to remix duties on their ever-growing and increasingly popular label, GMJ & Matter once again feature on Meanwhile with a dazzling new reworking. Continuing an illustrious run of original and remix production credits that have helped shape their label, the Australian duo have cemented their reputation as elite progenitors of the modern progressive house sound. Sprinkling magic dust all over “Square Root (’21 Salute)”, a trademark groove immediately provides dancefloor desirability while new melodic patterns wander in beautifully coruscating patterns across the 8-minute plus offering. Themes resonant with Rich Curtis’ original are infused throughout, but GMJ & Matter’s skill is to turn them into distinct variations that evolve and develop with gloriously textured soundscapes.

The final remix sees Luka Sambe return to Meanwhile. An artist with a triple century of production credits to his name dating back to 2013, Luka Sambe has seen his reputation and stature grow strongly in equal measures. Winning plaudits for releases on a string of high-profile labels, music for Balance Music, Lost & Found and Sudbeat Music has seen the Australian consistently find himself in the upper echelons of the progressive and organic house charts. Now following up September 2020’s “Alive is the Meaning” and the “Spy Games” EP on Meanwhile Horizons a year later, the Luka Sambe remix glistens with a silky melodic sheen that sees its origins in Rich Curtis’ original while intelligently creating a new path. Familiar arpeggios shimmer atop pulsating new pads and twinkling synth phrases that come to the fore at the breakdown before opening up in the third movement. A deep sub-bass groove and flowing rhythmic backdrop complete a mesmerising sonic picture.

With a stellar cast on display including Alex O’Rion, GMJ & Matter and Luka Sambe, Rich Curtis and his “Square Root (’21 Salute)” EP is so much more than the sum of its individual parts.

An artist with a steadily evolving body of work and ever-growing fanbase, Sebastian Sellares continues to chart a path to the upper echelons of the underground dance scene. Now making his Proportion debut, he delivers the twin-track “Renaissance” EP.

From his home in the foothills of the Sierras Chicas, Sebastian Sellares has witnessed an unstoppable rise to prominence. An accomplished guitarist from an early age with a particular focus on rock and metal, Sebastian was ultimately drawn to electronic music with a penchant for luscious melodies and deep rhythmic grooves. A regular across the clubs of his Córdoba home, a production career in tandem quickly shone a light on a complementary set of skills.

A plethora of high-class releases quickly followed with a century of tracks finding their way onto such esteemed imprints as Anjunadeep, Proton Music, GMJ & Matter’s Meanwhile and Cid Inc.’s Replug, the latter in collaboration with fellow countryman, Ezequiel Arias. Thus, through a growing portfolio of original and remix production work, Sebastian has become a sought after and in-demand artist.

Now making a first appearance on Proportion, Sebastian Sellares delivers a twin-track EP of the highest calibre. Redolent in rich melodic tapestry and dynamic rhythms that have become a staple of his work, “Renaissance” is a glorious offering that lilts effortlessly via rolling groove and ticking hi-hats. A rumbling bassline sequence creates syncopated synergy as expertly placed and stereo-panned effects add to the dense atmosphere. Elegant melodies emerge into the second movement and breakdown as they tumble and cascade over each other in beautiful aural patterns. Hitting its stride once more in the second half, emotive string phrases and delicately pulsating synths add even greater depth in a track that finds the Argentinean at the height of his production powers.

Partner track, “The Blitz” immediately excites with its subtle bouncing bassline energy and ticking percussive groove. Immaculately placed synth phrasing provides dancefloor dynamism as a sweeping analogue synth line imprints itself on the listener’s consciousness. Rising and falling with club-friendly ease, a cadenced synth line builds in energy, mirroring the bassline beneath before twinkling keys provide a moment of exquisite beauty. As the track drops back into its stride once more in the latter stages, bass prowess and melodic majesty combine in mesmerising fashion.

Taking the rebirth of modern progressive house to new heights, Sebastian Sellares is a true “Renaissance” artist.

With the pads and small melodic lines, he’s been building a true mysterious production to all of you that we believe will echo across the globe, on radio, in the clubs or just giving you the ultimate pleasure playing it at home.

You will have a massive line-up coming up on remixes as well, as we are to bring you a fantastic take from one of our absolute favorites when it comes to the deeper and more techy side of progressive, Finlands finest Timewave. Antti has been a true inspiration to a lot of producers, following the scene and hearing this one, that isn’t a big mystery. With classy progressions, his trademark deep and tech inspired sound design, he delivers an absolutely stunning interpretation here, that we are thrilled to have with us. 

The ever surprisingly US producer, but now based in Afghanistan, Haroun Omar makes another appearance with us on PHW, this time for the first time on our deeper imprint. He has built a deep house inspired and a more stripped down interpretation, added on some huge melodic work to the original ideas to give you a perfect set opener where you will hear a lot of musical passion. We couldn’t be happier than we are to bring back Haroun in the house, as we believe he is one of the most promising names out there. 

The rounding off and the 3rd remix comes from a truly fantastic producer hailing from Greece, the one and only Angelo-K. We are really happy to have Angelo with us, as we believe he is one to follow through 2014 if he is one that has flown below on your radar so far. With superb sound structures, a warm atmosphere and superb melodic work, he for sure showcase he is one to watch, and we are equally happy having him as a part in the family of PHW. We can assure you he is back in a not to long spell on the deeper division of our imprint,

Another proud moment is here for us, as we are able to bring back one of the most underrated producer out there on our roster, and this time on original duty once again. We of course talk about the phenomenal Russian producer Mimax!

Being with us for the first time, with his highly appreciated remix on Toby Hedges masterpiece “Mirai” back in April last year, he for the first time through our imprint showcased his skills. The 2nd appearance on the the label was back in November 2013, that time on original duty with the superb and heavily supported “Liberty Heights” and now he returns to us with another amazing and driving release, including 2 originals.

“Amen” as the first production is called is a huge production filled with energy and melodic progressions that we do believe will be a huge success on any decent dance floor worldwide, that angelic vocal addition gives a great feel to the track, we are over the moon to see something like this on our label.

The 2nd original included this time is the original called “Sibling”. This is another driving piece of music, including cool arrangements, energetic kicks and drive. Cool melodic work is layered up and gives the track a great edge

Another Mimax release is with us, and we are as happy as ever to see him back in our house!
