Ruben Karapetyan - Acceptance (Original Mix) [ABORIGINAL]

Presenting their second release of the year, Antrim’s Or Two Strangers welcomes Sebastian Sellares back to the label for a new EP. The Cordoba resident has been one of the imprints core artists since first appearing in 2019, with five original productions released over the course of a prolific sixteen month stretch. UK behemoth Anjunadeep, Cid Inc’s Replug Records, GMJ and Matter's Meanwhile and US powerhouse Proton Music have also served as landing spots for the Argentine's mesmerizing productions, while progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren continue to champion his sound. With the year being highlighted by the recently released Replug vehicle ‘Sky Above’, a joint EP project produced alongside fellow countryman Ezequiel Arias, Sebastian now returns to Or Two Strangers with a three track showcase entitled ‘Blizzard’.

EP opener and title selection ‘Blizzard’ finds Sebastian operating at the peak of his creative powers. Fuelled by tough driving beats and layers of hypnotic percussion; it’s Sebastian’s stirring melodies which ultimately shape the piece into a memorable dance floor slam. Colourful cascades emerge leading into the main break, sitting in an emotional headspace and bringing with them trails of balmy atmospherics and effervescent effects, before eventually breaking off into a drop of rebounding rhythms and heartwarming chord changes.

Selection two ‘Elements of Nature’ lands with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship. Sebastian re-affirms his ability to tip a late-night dance floor over the edge, with wobbly grooves and hip-swinging percussion laying the foundation for misty atmospheres and smoky instrumentation. Sitting comfortably in an ethereal yet thought provoking space, thumping beats rise out of a soulful strum-led break into an ever-evolving, free form finale.

The EP’s final selection ‘Hypnotica’ finds Sebastian continuing to diversify his portfolio with a whimsical creation that’s nicely dialled for the sunrise hours. Deeper in design and highly stylized in delivery, its beautifully contoured, funk-fuelled groove sets the course for incandescent melodies and otherworldly harmonics to create a panoramic musical skyline. Often celebrated for his ability to create emotional themes, Sebastian has ventured further with the ‘Blizzard’ collection, into a time of true innovation, traversing a multitude of realms and dimensions within the progressive spectrum, while excelling throughout.

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint opens the month of October with a new EP from DJ Choopie and Golan Zocher. The former, based in Israel lays claim to over two decades of production work and releases via long standing imprints such as Bedrock and Yoshitoshi. Meanwhile, Colombian born, Israel based artist Golan Zocher has enjoyed similar success across his five-year career, landing releases via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Beatfreak and Clubsonica Records. Having been occasional studio partners for some time, Choopie and Golan have collaborated on projects for Mango Alley, Sol Selectas and Choopie's Agnosia Black imprint. Also calling Sound Avenue affiliate 3rd Avenue home, the duo now steps up to Sound Avenue for a three track showcase entitled 'Amirim'.

The 12th release on Suffused Music was Kaan Koray's 'Heart of Africa'. It saw the Turkish producer deliver what many consider to be one of his best productions of 2013. The driving grooves and intoxicating atmospheres were magical on the dance floor and it furthered the great momentum that Suffused Music had been building as the fourth quarter of 2013 began. Seven months and 21 releases later Suffused Music now presents a brand new set of remixes for "Heart Of Africa'. The Lithuanian imprint is one of the best at melding progressive breaks and house together and this remix collection is a fine example of that. Faskil and Trukers both provide exceptional breaks interpretations with rock solid beats and a great complement of atmospheres and themes reworked from the original. Complementing the breakbeat remixes Kay-D returns to Suffused Music for his second appearance. The much loved Hungarian delivers a solid interpretation which delights the senses with an array of complex melodies and enchanting harmonics. Lastly Elliptical Sun headman Arctic Night provides a deeper, atmospheric rework which sits alongside the bigger breakbeat interpretations and Kay-D's musical masterpiece perfectly. A very worthy remix pack for one of the true highlights from Suffused Music's great catalog. - Release Promo

Malta based Scott Williams makes another wonderful return to us on PHW Elements, as his latest baby “Olafs Treasure” is in for a treat this week on the label. The original, is a melancholic and deep progressive ride, just as we have seen from him in the past here on the label, among others as well. With well selected pads, energetic percussion and deep kick drums he is sure to hit you with another masterpiece, just as we expected from him. It’s always a pleasure and a winner to have Scott on the label, because of music like this.

On remix duty, we see another full line up on the label, with Atermon and Billy Alex showing their new alias Esensides for a debut on the label. With their fresh and forward thinking style, we see another stamp taking place here, and it is nothing less than “one hell of a tune” coming up. With a superb groove built up, filled with dark tweaks and flying pads, they for sure hit us with a masterpiece here, to deliver another way of seeing on “Olafs Treasure”. 

Next, we see a welcome return from Argentine producer Nicolas Petracca who once again returns to us with another strong production. With a pumping feel, more techno-ish than the previous two works, he sets a new way of getting on the move through clubs across the globe. It’s a definite winner, with high energy and drive being the idea of the track.

Closing the release, is another return to the label, as Hungarian ace Robert R. Hardy takes his tweak. He goes a bit more back to basics, with a super strong interpretation packed with a lot of feel good elements that gives it a nice swing. It’s deep with a wonderful flow delivered, and we are sure you will find another Robert R. Hardy production here, that meet your expectations, it sure does to us.
