When I started Project AER in 2020, I saw the opportunity blend the sounds I loved in ambient, post-rock and emo music with the chilled and laidback beats and sounds of lofi.

In 2022, I began experimenting doing things the other way round with the goal of making a record that felt like post-rock / emo first, and lofi second.
I dabbled away at a handful of demos on and off until late 2023 when my feelings towards the shifting state of lofi inspired me to write an *album* - no batches, no writing for playlists, just making something that felt fresh to me.

Enter All Notes Replica - my favourite album I've ever made as Project AER - a collection of songs capturing snapshots of my life, my relationship with music, and somewhat of a reminder for me to slow down and try new things once in a while.

I say my music is special a lot, but I have genuinely never meant it more than right now. This album means the world to me.

It's the longest I've spent on a Project AER record, with so many moments where it has either moved me to tears or brought me so much comfort and joy.
It's now turned me into a bundle of nerves as I write this, but I am equally excited to finally get to share it with you.

I could talk forever about the meanings and everything behind these songs, but for now, I invite you to listen and I hope you enjoy this album.

I'm a night owl and am often kept awake by my own thoughts and ideas, and I wanted to create something as a bit of an ode to that feeling.

Drifting

A while ago I started writing these two songs and never finished them. Upon rediscovering their demos and how well they fit together I decided to finish them up. 🎶

I named this little double single after how they felt to me. They just felt reassuring, for lack of a better word.
In such a strange year I've found a lot of comfort in writing songs. And I wanted to share these songs with you purely because of how they make me feel. 💙

One For Reassurance

Today I have a new track out with my best buddy Colours in Context - we've been making music together for years, under different projects, and I'm so pleased to finally have a track out with him! 💙

The track is called Youth and it's sort of an ode to nostalgia and the music we bonded over. 🔥

He approached me with this incredible piano melody & chords. I added some guitars and the odd vocal thing here and there, and the result is one of my favourite tracks of the year! 🎶

Seeing The Stars is the soundtrack of the sun setting at the end of the year. As night falls, the worries of the day can begin to slowly wash away. Seeing The Stars embodies the feeling of a weight being lifted, basking in the night's glow.

Project AER started in March 2019 by UK-based Producer Alex Reade as a testing ground for figuring out where to go next.

Alex's music roots started through his discovery and love of Emo, Rock & Punk genres in Secondary School. Picking up a guitar a year later, he has released music under countless aliases such as Almost Anyone & Little Music.

With a decade passed through experimentation of sounds in various genres, Project AER's signature sound has been built and refined to reflect a blend of dreamy ambience and guitar-driven beats.
