By the time the Halberd crew reached the bridge that Zero chased Ceroba to, the only thing they witnessed was something they'd never hope to see. Blood and dust are strewn all across the road, splinters from Ceroba's staff contrasting the shattered cleavers Zero had taken from the chase earlier. The two turn up to the Halberd's giant spotlight.

Meta Knight sees the clear exhaustion in both their faces as they turn back down to face each other. Neither can stand for long... Find out what you've chosen.

Ceroba, severely wounded from Zero's onslaught and stressed that he seems to know exactly what she's going to do before she does it, finally falls unconscious. Zero picks her up by her hair, preparing to slit her throat before having to roll off to the side. Meta Knight thrusts down onto the bridge, taking hold of Ceroba's unconscious body before staring Zero dead in the eyes. Every plan he comes up with ends in death, so for now... Zero surrenders. Dedede and his personal royal guard land behind him, caging him as the whole group proceed to return to the Halberd on Warp Stars.
