I've got my ETHER some days ago and this is one of my weirdest gear, yet the most interesting one. You can record electromagnetic fields, but unlike many DIY projects, it can capture way more sounds, in a much various range. Plus, you have the "SOMA" sound, really thick and powerful.

I wanted to record a black metal song into a 4 track tape recorder, a SM57, some effects pedals, cheap amps and so on. Here's the result of hours of try and fail.

I've just dust off my Volca FM, created an organ sound and sampled 4 different chords into the Tascam 414, and I've created a simple sound and improvised over these chords, recorded it into my dictaphone (playback it half speed), and here's the result. 
My 414 have some issues recently and is getting unstable, but I think it turned out pretty great, especially drowned into reverb and delay. I added some overdrive to the organ chords, and the magnificient AMA to the lead part.

Changing a little bit my setup and trying to compose a different music. Two 4 track tape recorders are used for different purposes (the 414 goes through the Boss BD-2, Boss RE20 and the EHX Holy Grail), the Microbrute is used as usual for bass and the Volca FM (going through the Zoom MS70) as a lead synth.
