so i guess a little context might help here...

the Project 1.232 tracks (P_000's & P_100's) were a collection of collages made from my furthering (or, one could say, regressivistic) experimentations into the world of sound production. 
the idea was kind of a latent reactionary thing, stemming from a game of back-and-forth "Rap Songs Sampled From" youtube postings, which got me to thinking of how i had really lost track of the hip-hop/rap (whatever you call it) genre back around '94/95, when the influences of the whole P-diddy/Rockwilder/Swizzbeats-styles Era (not to mention those whom were making 'em say ughh... and all that came after that!) were infiltrating peoples' beats everywhere. it just all seemed to be getting so protocol, cookie cutter, washed, clean. 
i was thinking of how the production had really shifted from the co-meshing and twizzteling of choppy, dusty, rusty-nail samples, to straightened out loops of top 40 hits' riffs (and R&B choruses to top it—often outshining the shitty rapper on the track themself) bringing the sounds to become more about longer cuts, and less coalescing and colliding of different rhythms and textures (but one can't overlook the card the RIAA had played in that one), and then of course... the money that could be made off making it so uniformly palatable it once realized that that's all you needed  for the public at large to swallow it; thus leaving the landscape of sound in hip-hop to a much more polished, shiny, sterile place.
as a teenager, i remember reading (memorizing) the liner notes in those early decade's album covers, which were filled with inserts a mile long, reading of things like "'Such and Such Song' contains samples of..." and then names and names, and names upon names, of songs that were used to make the one song that i was listening to. some of the them with the strangest titles i'd ever seen (like Psychoalphadiscobetabioaquadoloop! —which i later came to love, and collect like crazy). 
i haven't really had much musical output of my own for the last several years, but it was when a homeboy recently mentioned Fruity Loops, that it reminded me of when a good friend from back in the day had hooked me up with a copy of that program. i fucked around with it a little back then, but at the time was into recording my guitar oriented songs, and didn't really give it too much attention (in terms of production, i was more headed toward the realm of tape). well, needless to say, since then that program (and the scope of digital recording infinitum) has made striding leaps so far that it has gone well over and above my head (and budget!), but when he brought up that program, and showed me how it could be used as a straight up sampler (yep, caveman sees evolution and runs!) i thought about how i could utilize it like the SP1200's that all the cats i used to dig used to use, back in the day, when shit still sounded good. at the time, i never realized the potential that program had in it (which, for my intents and purposes, in actuality, is a minimalizing to the utilization of all those burgeoning features), just never got really to it.
so, the idea being planted, and then put that in connection with my obsessive compulsive downloading habits, my store of mp3's built up since the napster days,  an updated copy of that program, and my head wound (mummy wrapped) in figuring out how the ancient art of sampling and sequencing was done: you'v got a 33 year old 13 year old, with the tools, a little knowledge of production, and the tipping toward the idea that with that, it actually is possible; and it's kinda taken over, sparked a whole new hemesphere into worlds of the musical universe that i'd always wanted to try out, but never got around to (too bad we're about twenty years too late!). 
but it's in the combination of those elements, those influences, (those involved, those which encouraged me along the way), it's in all those who made those songs, that were made into songs, that had sometimes unreadable names,  and especially those who found the ways to arrange, rearrange, derange, and straight fuck up those great records by combining their dopest cuts and loops and crackles into something completely new and innovative, that i'v found a little piece of the island i can get up and run around in again.

OKAY, LONG WINDED SHIT OVER WITH HERE (for the most part)—> 
so, with the Project 1.232 thing it was never really intended to be "music" (but then, that kinda goes for everything i'v recorded), but a project construed to the idea of learning what makes sequencing sequence, to the fundamentals of how connecting one cut to another to another works, discovering the intricacies of what made up the soundtrack to those early years;  and then, in keeping all samples no longer than one and two hundred thirty two mill's of a second (anything in those tracks longer than that... i learned the art of pitch re-shifting!!).  so conceptually, it was in the stripping down, in the limitedness, the minimializing of the amounts of time to sample from, trying to do things the ways those guys  did, with what they had to work with, the things that force-made innovation (two turntables... and a buddy with a sampler, if you were lucky), in constructing a melody to a beat, using minimalistic ways to make complexities out of sounds that builds into a new sound. that's what the focus of the 1.232 project was.
and this was never really intended to be made a page for posting stuff (other than the 1.232's), but since then, i was asked to put up what i'v got of recent, so here is where i'll post it, and i guess just take up the nom de eardrum-plume of Project 1.232.

now, with this second set of tracks, the project's concept was pretty much the same (albeit, this time samples were limited to 1.170 sec)—that is, until i realized it was a bit different—there was a running theme throughout them, which i didn't notice until the last one i put together (of the 200's). it was in that: they all had sampled a particular song, but different (sometimes very different ) covered versions of it: and then, that there was a connection running from one song to another, either a song that sampled them, or the songs themselves were sampled in connection to another song; one that had used all the samples that i was already using in that set of tracks; which is how the very last one (P_NJH) ended up being conceived. i found that i had on hand all the songs, let alone all the cuts, that were originally used to do that song, and so, couldn't help but trying out a reconstruction of it (thus, ruining my theme of keeping a limit in time to samples—but... getting to go back, and make something that my 13 year old cousins that got me into it in the first place would'v really gotten a kick out of!).

well, i guess Project 1.232 is pretty well obsolete (as a premise, samples are still kept good and short though), but this page was just intended to put up a collection of songs for a hommie that had got me back into the world of audio production, so in regards to my furthering experimentations into the lost art of sampling, as to a space for somewhere to place them, i'll just keep this page here for now, and save this name 'til i think of something better.
