CVD Family Mix #016: JØNAS

JOE SANE aka. Joel Boer was born in The Netherlands in 1997. He always had a love for electronic dance music and started to make music by himself at the age of 17. After a few years of making techno, he developed his style how it is today. 

He started at the Herman Brood Academy this year and is working hard to make an impact with his own sound. Getting appreciation from big artists in the scene, his tracks are being played at famous venues. As he puts it: "this is surely only the beginning".

CVD Friend Mix #019: JOE SANE

This week we invited Pien Verschiere for our CVD Friend Mix. She is a 24 year old Dutch  techno DJ based in Deventer. 

Pien is co-founder of DE ONTGROENING and has been playing herself for several years now. She has done several podcasts so far, including podcasts for Groovecast, Septic Amsterdam, ARTDICTIVE, Open Source Radio and In The Middle Of The Rythm.

Pien is mainly inspired by a combination of industrial (hard) techno, both hard trance and psytrance, and old school (acid) techno. She loves to keep it up-tempo.

Her goal is therefore to create a “fast paced” ambiance with funky sounds and vocals where fanatics can lose themselves to.

Bio
Paris born, Hong Kong bred, and now Berlin based Aimé You is a DJ and musician. A classically trained guitarist, over the years he played in different ensembles and bands; as well as DJed under different aliases until his passion for house music and his move to the German capital brought him to consolidate his efforts as Aimé You.
Blending smooth grooves, house classics, and new age sounds, Aimé You's love for the music he plays is always on show through his boundless energy behind the decks, inventive mixes, and the varied styles where he draws his inspiration; from 90s, minimal, deep, italo, and chicago house to breakbeat, trance, garage, and disco.
He co-founded the Sounds by Friends collective in 2022, in order to showcase a unique mix of visual art, live performances, and sounds, and is currently testing and playing his first productions as Aimé You in his sets, which are slated to release soon.

Fubar is a 25 year old techno DJ based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. He build up a lot of experience behind the decks at illegal raves during covid and eventually he found the inspiration of his sound in the clubs of Berlin, inspired by DJ’s as Mython and Jonas Xenon. Hard groove basslines with hypnotic sounds combined by a fine selected track selection he will create a great vibe of endless groove.

OUTLIER is a DJ currently based in Utrecht, Netherlands. Originally from Ecuador, he moved to the Netherlands in 2019 and began to DJ at the end of that same year. Since then, he has performed at multiple local events and recorded sets for different emerging collectives.Taking inspiration from DJ’s and producers such as Daria Kolosova, Francois X, Chlär and West Code, his style focuses on a mixture of groovy and hypnotic elements, putting an emphasis on layering multipe tracks through loops and samples. With a philosophy of “If I like it, I’m playing it” his sets are fresh and different but always stay trye to his passion for music and DJing.

Notenkraker is a DJ from Utrecht, The Netherlands.

Notenkraker combines fast paced techno and groove rhythm altogether. Percussion drums are element in his sets. He tries to think out of the box with edge-cutting sounds. Without a rhyme, there is no riddle, without a riddle there is no rhythm.

Mario Tishok, a Seville born DJ captivated by the allure of Techno sounds. Emerging from the vibrant Andalusian underground scene, he transitioned from raves and private parties to venues like Sala Even, Sala Prisma and Sala Oshun in Seville and Huelva. Influenced by the likes of Oscar Mulero and Mathys Lenne, as well as the minimalist artistic movement, Tishok transforms his music into a captivating experience rather than a rigid definition. His signature style intertwines atmospheric sounds, Techno elements and eclectic acapellas, creates an immersive sensation.

Kenny Chulzz is an upcoming house DJ currently finding his way in the broad spectrum of subgenres. At this point he is close to finding his favourite style to play when he stands behind the decks. Best described as high energy house, he likes a good groove, strong kicks, nasty slaps and some catchy hihats. To keep things spicy he likes to play with acid and breakbeats. This set is a good example of where he’s going as a DJ: high energy house.

TERSTALL is a DJ based in Utrecht.His father used to be a DJ and give free Tekno raves in the 90's. Because of this TERSTALL has a vast record collection of old gems. Recently TERSTALL picked up djing with vinyl records, most of these records he got from his family. By playing vinyl he tries to push his own boundaries and to be very careful in selecting records and when to mix them in. 

TERSTALL his sets focusses on heavy sound design, dark synths, old school sounds and odd percussion. Besides this he is the owner of USF, they support multiple rave concepts in Utrecht with their main rave partner being Eindstation. 

TERSTALL has much love for the techno scene and aims to contribute via USF and his music. His goal is to connect Utrecht and show the rest of the Netherlands that the scene in Utrecht is alive.

Thijs Koning is a 19-year old house DJ/Producer from Hoorn, The Netherlands. Inspired by the 90’s UK house sound, his music reflects the sensual vibe of that musical era. Next to mixing he also produces his own tracks.
SŮNBURN likes to surprise you with his energy and variety of track selections ranging from Hard House, Groove, Garage & Trance.
By using groovy melodies, rhythmic drums, and sexy vocals he creates a funky but powerful atmosphere leaving you with no other choice but to dance.
Trying to expand his track library and production skills every day to become a better artist.
Currently, he is working on his first EP coming out shortly while trying to get into a conservatorium to educate himself better.
His name comes from his disability to withstand sunlight. Using his disease in his name to turn it into something positive.
SŮNBURN is stepping into the scene and he is here to stay.
