Jade, Chris, Waz, Kev and Lee came together in 2012 for the simple love of playing music. The one and only goal was to have some fun. With enjoyment the primary goal rather than gigs, they had the freedom to play the music they truly loved rather than being driven by what was “popular”. The band clicked almost instantly and it was clear that something special was going on. What happened next came as bit of a surprise – people responded positively and Project Blue was born, kicking off its public life with a 3 month residency at the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi. It’s been a wild ride ever since.

Firmly rooted in the blues, their sound could simply be called rock, yet everything they do is brushed with a liberal dose of danceable rhythms echoing 70’s funk. Whatever the label, it’s always a whole lot of fun.

Further adding to the bands popularity is its split personality. Starting life as a no holds barred electric band, Project Blue has also developed a stripped down acoustic arrangement better suited for smaller venues and beer gardens. The acoustic shows now make up almost half the gigs.
