"This is the cover of one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite artists, On The Beach by Neil Young. When i first heard that song, i felt like i could have or should have written it. The lyrics are so dark and beautiful, they relate to the slightly autistic part that a lot of artists are hiding and the artist condition in general. But I'm no Neil Young when it comes to song-writing, so instead of trying to write something as good, I decided to make a cover, twist that blues tune and turn it into something completely different and (much to my surprise) even darker, to the point where most people don't even recognize the original song." Whiskey Disco continues to explore boundaries; blurring lines between original and edit, disco and oddity. WD47 is helmed by Dutchman, Olivier Boogie, an artist known for strengths across the spectrum, in previous releases, we’ve seen his editing on display, No Goodbye is a fine balance between original synthesis and editing panache. Thoma Cher is a newcomer to the edit scene, but has been heavily involved in a disco and house renaissance occurring in Shanghai over the last few years. His club chops have honed an acute ear, we love what we’re hearing from him and can’t wait for more. 

The B-Side is everything a B-Side should be: weird. Label staple, Alkalino guides us along a cosmic journey of boogie-down grooves. Arps, baby. We love em. SF crew, JP Soul & Anthony Mansfield have been attracting serious attention of late between outings on Roam Recordings and sightings at the famous Burning Man camp, Disco Knights. To say they are ravelords is an understatement. Their pedigree is on full display in Warlord, equal parts Arp energy and HUGE (HUGE) lead, the right balance of fun and cheese.

Described as "a musical travel-log, consisting of eight pieces, written over two years, which are recollections of experiences, moments in time from trips," Altitude Attitudes is every bit as woozy, breezy, sun-kissed and blissful as you'd expect. Highlights are plentiful, from the synthesized panpipes and watery electronics of "Atmopsherica", and tropical, Balearic jazz-funk of "Hotel Breakfast", to the glistening, wide-eyed brilliance of "Rainbow Delta", and chiming, sunrise disco of "Astro Girl" premiered here.
