You probably did not know this but I also compose songs and I am tentatively exploring how to manifest these in the context of the Gifts From Crows sound. The first of these is called 'Ancient Mariner', featuring the talented vocalist Bethany Grace. Even more intriguing though is the fact that it is going to be included in a soon to be released film by Phil Strongman.

HONG KONG BLUE is the first feature-length movie within the new 'Found Noir' genre - a genre based on using out-takes, found footage, narration, music and stills to create a compelling tale. Using only a handful of actors - usually just in voice overs - Found Noir takes film back to its original purpose; the direct telling of relevant modern stories. ..'

I'm a huge fan of a lot of movie and television scores for a lot of the content from the 50s and 60s, and have been especially influenced by Bernard Herrmann's work with Hitchcock as well as material like this. Here's my interpretation of Mr. Herrmann's piece for a Twilight Zone episode in 1959. 

Instruments in order of their appearance: Atmospherics, Trombone, Vibes, Ondes Martenot, Trumpet, Piano, Glockenspiel, Harp, Synth, and Organ.

“Niwe Mang” is an instrumental piece that moves between modern electronic soundscapes and the colors of Eastern music. At its core, the Duduk and Iranian Tar take the lead — traditional instruments woven into processed, synth-based textures that bridge the past and the present.

The track begins in a dark, mysterious atmosphere, where sounds drift, fade, and return in slow motion. Gradually, it opens toward light and brightness, expanding into wide, immersive layers that surround the listener in warmth and depth.

“Niwe Mang” floats between chillwave, ambient, and atmospheric electronic genres.
It’s music for those who seek a new path between darkness and light — between sound and silence.
