Tangled Worlds w/ MOY & MAUSE (Broadcast @ Threads Radio 13-Sep-21)

Episode 19 is dedicated to Sci Fi Electro series, where each artist has created a 15 minute track per side (2 tracks in total), taking you from pure electro tracks to very experimental compositions, sounds and atmospheres. The series is a collection of seven releases inspired by the following films created in the 20th century: THX 1138, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, The Thing, Akira, Terminator and Tron. 
You will listen interpretations inspired by movies: THX 1138 (by Transpac) and Blade Runner (by Scape One). This is our tribute as well to the talented Greek electronic music artist - Vangelis (RIP), who has written music for Blade Runner movie. Tracks have been released only in vinyl format (Electro Records). Enjoy and thanks for listening !

The seventh episode, dedicated to the famous Viennese electro label run by DJ Glow (@gl03) "TRUST", is mixed by Lok44 (@lok44).

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, TRUST is not only one of the longest running electro labels out there, but also one that’s happily played by its own rules all this time. With mostly just one or two releases each year since its inception in 1998, TRUST has avoided cashing in on trends as well as mainstream attention in favor of steadily building a carefully curated catalog of sci-fi techno bass classics. Its first dozen releases comprised almost exclusively of music from its hometown of Vienna, Austria - by artists such as Microthol, Lok44, Epy, Patrick Pulsinger, and the label’s founder, DJ Glow - but TRUST’s roster has expanded greatly since the late 2000s with much sought-after releases by Clatterbox, DJ Stingray / Urban Tribe, VC-118a, Alex Cortex, Kamikaze Space Programme, Second Storey, and The Exaltics.
Most recently TRUST has been home to several EPs and an album by Austrian electro duo /DL/MS/, the TRUST XY remix series that features artists like Keith K-1 Tucker, Stenny, Ultradyne and Peder Mannerfelt, and keeps pushing unique perspectives on futuristic bass music - from Detroit electro veteran DJ Di’jital to Australian lizard squad leader Reptant. Encompassing music from all 2.5 decades of TRUST, this vinyl-only Tracklistings mix has been crafted by one of the label’s most frequent contributors, Lok44.

Phil got his first pair of turntables in 2001 and has been passionately collecting records and DJing ever since. His first residency came at the age of 17 for deep house night ‘No Shanti’ in York followed by a residency at ‘Howdoyoudo?’ along with many guest slots around the city. During his time in Nottingham he started his own event ‘Sherbert’ at the infamous ‘Moog’ pub before founding ‘Subterranea' in 2013 - ten years later Phil remains resident DJ and co-promoter. 

In 2022 Phil joined the team at The Imaginarium and opened Plant & Deck, Leeds’ only house plant and record shop. The shop specialises in house plants of all varieties and left-field leaning electronic music from ambient and electronica through house, techno, electro and breaks. Green fingers aside this allows him the opportunity to tip the city’s vinyl diggers by drawing upon his extensive knowledge of, and passion for, electronic music.

In over 20 years of DJing at, and throwing, parties he has warmed up and closed for countless DJs including Radioactive Man, Conforce & Versalife, Surgeon, Jamie Anderson, Trevino, Neville Watson and Alex Smoke to name just a few. Playing exclusively on vinyl, Phil is an accomplished DJ in his own right with shelves and shelves of records fit for any dancefloor. For the modulations mix series he has dug out an hour of spaced out electro wobblers, the majority of which are available at Plant & Deck.

Alice has been DJing since she was a teen, started with punkrock and electro pop, progressing to hiphop to end up finally with (oldschool) electro and wavy music. She has been involved in DIY venues/spaces for a long time. Now she is part of Pracht Leipzig and Part of Disposable Time, where she organizes parties and hosts a Radio Show on Callshop Radio and a podcast series all together with FAQ.

Dark Science Electro presents: The Women of Electro

Promising/Youngster is the moniker for Diego Cadierno. This project arises from the need of rolling out his creations away from (but not far of) the dancefloor. Crunchy bases, fat basses, dreamy pads and analog and digital instrumentation join to form a landscape that could be named as a cross among IDM, Electro, Braindance, Downtempo, Ambient and Shoegaze. Releases on Analogical Force, Sin Hilo, Nebulae, Adepta, Touched…

In his live performances he teams up with visual artist Mucrovision, who creates exclusive pieces for this performance

Cadee is the project through which Diego Cadierno releases his more dancefloor oriented works. 

After more than five years exploring more “brain” fields (idm, breaks, electro...) with his alias Promising/Youngster, Diego feels the need to go back to his more hedonist roots. 

If we talk about style, Cadee’s speech is based on four-on-the-floor, making room for house, techno or disco-oriented structures, and everything in between. Acid, tribal and vocal touches are also usual on his tracks.
