14세에 첫 턴테이블을 마련한 켄 메이어는 90년대 중반부터 테크노 디제이로 활동하기 시작했다. 켄은 그의 형이자 오랜 협력자인 칼(Karl)과 함께 Drop Bass, Black Nation 페스티벌 및 미국 중서부 전역의 다양한 파티에서 활동했으며, Surgeon, Anthony Shakir, BMG, John Roberts, James Ruskin, Spencer Kincy, Function과 같은 전설적인 아티스트들과 함께 수많은 언더그라운드 이벤트를 조직해 왔다. 그는 시카고의 전설적인 Gramaphone Records 소속으로 활동하며 WNUR, WHPK와 같은 시카고 방송국에서 매주 라디오 쇼를 진행했으며, 현재는 뉴욕 기반의 Standards & Practices 레이블을 공동 운영하고 있다. 또한, 켄은 레지스(Regis)가 운영하는 Downwards, 뉴욕 딥 앰비언트의 심장 Mysteries of the Deep 레이블을 통해 Ken Meier와 Obelus의 이름으로 꾸준히 자신의 음악을 발표하고 있으며, 2023년 8월에는 Standards & Practices 레이블을 통해 새로운 EP ‘Imitable Behaviors’를 발매하였다.

Amsterdam-based DJ Cobahn embarked on her musical journey amidst Seoul's vibrant techno scene, immersing herself in its spiritual depths. With regular performances at Club Vurt, renowned as an underground techno bunker in Seoul, she refined her craft through various parties. Now rooted in Amsterdam, she expands her musical horizons across Europe.

Her performances grace prestigious venues such as De School, Tresor, Garage Noord, alongside renowned techno events like Ratherlost and Pax Romana, as well as festivals like Mostra. Notably, she is featured on the artist lineup of Dekmantel 10 and Paral·lel festival this year.

Influenced by Eastern culture and the captivating force of nature, her music seamlessly blends deep, psychedelic elements into a dark, polyrhythmic, yet irresistibly groovy soundscape.

Cobahn's sonic journey aims to transport listeners into a ritualistic state of mind, where the boundaries between consciousness and the subconscious blur. "I find myself immersed in an abstract and dark symphony. Certain passages are ritualistic, while others evoke a cinematic quality, like a listener on a train watching the music pass by. It's a blend of intangible and ethereal sensations where frequencies transform into dark matter, transporting you to sonic universes that challenge the boundaries of perception."

Bassywax (@bassywax) is the creative character and parallel reality from Asier Arias, a 29-year-old Donostia based dj and producer. Deep lover of sonic storytellings, intimate dancefloor gatherings, psychedelia and vinyl records, he is part of Nigma (@nigma-dss), a collective and party series focused on developing a local techno scene around Donostia, north of Spain. Big nerd on the studio, still on the process of self discovery and identity development in the realm of sound production.

Author note: As for this mix, left the dancefloor focus aside and tried getting weird while exploring different sonic places. Not much to say, let the music play and enjoy the trip.

For our sixteenth instalment we’ve invited AERAE, a French DJ and producer currently making her way into the deep and tribal techno scene. 

Over the past years she played at numerous stages alongside renowned DJ’s throughout Europe under her former alias, during this period she was ever evolving as an artist. At the beginning of 2024 her debut EP 'Percussive Reverie' was released on Annulled Music, this EP set the tone for a new chapter in her musical journey. It was reviewed as ‘Best Album of the year’ on the popular German magazine GROOVE, which is a big compliment to her producing skills.

“Through this mix, I aimed to capture the feeling of a walk through an enigmatic, slightly dark forest where wild creatures lurk in the shadows. We can hear the river and birds, offering a sense of reassurance on this journey.”

When I received the proposal to participate in the 5th edition of Temple, during the after-hours slot called Baptistery, I immediately knew I had the opportunity to do something completely different from what I'm used to. So, without thinking too much, I dove into my most personal records, trying to select tracks that have influenced me over the years.

You don’t always get the chance to showcase a more intimate side during a dance set, so I’m incredibly grateful to Josephine and Camu for the opportunity to put the finishing touch on such a special day as we experienced at Temple Chapter #5. And, of course, many thanks to the brave souls who stayed until the very end. XO
