Under the Lemon Tree

Sitting under the lemon tree,
I was leafing through the newspapers
Nothing new beneath the cobblestones,
And the river has run dry.
Always the same old stories
In these sad pages
I’m in such need of calm,
Of caresses on my cheeks.
And under the lemon tree, you’re watching
This world turned upside down,

Fingers stained black from the paper,
A mind swarming with distractions.
I breathed in the lemon tree,
A bitter taste on my tongue.
Not in a rush to lock myself away,
I’d rather get some fresh air,
Dream beneath its velvety leaves,
Softened at its feet.

The flavor of love and time.
Tomorrow’s life so pale,
Tomorrow’s life so fade,

It seems they’ve forgotten

This is my first new demo in over eight years. Just getting back into the swing of things. Not a full track, just a demo I knocked up in about 10 minutes.

After the loss of our Chug who was one of the sweetest dog you could find, passed away around three months ago, and the place feels empty without her. So it inspired me to create this piece. Produced in Fl Studio 2024. FL Studio Tenor Sax, Guitar Rig Pro 7, FL Studio Ibanez and Flex Organ.
