Knife presenta Prophän, el proyecto de música electrónica en solitario de Othman Cherradi, con sede en Casablanca, Marruecos. Cherradi dirige el sello de techno experimental Rhadâb y es cofundador, junto con Nova Ouacheb, de Mindless, una serie de eventos en vivo, podcasts y transmisiones de radio.

Prophän reconoce un amplio espectro de inspiraciones musicales, que van desde el industrial y el post-punk hasta la innegable influencia de las prácticas y costumbres musicales locales que inducen al trance y que lo rodean en el norte de África.

Ha lanzado música en varios sellos, incluido Khemia Records con su álbum debut, así como un remix de la influyente banda indonesia Senyawa en Drowned By Locals, y una contribución a Clan Destine Records, por nombrar algunos.

Knife presents Prophän, the solo electronic music project of Othman Cherradi, based in Casablanca, Morocco. Cherradi runs the experimental techno label Rhadâb and is the co-founder, alongside Nova Ouacheb, of Mindless a series of live events, podcasts and radio broadcasts.

Prophän acknowledges a wide spectrum of musical inspirations, ranging from industrial and post-punk to the undeniable influence of local trance-inducing musical practices and customs that surround him in North Africa.

He has released music on several labels including Khemia Records with his debut album, as well as a remix for influential Indonesian band Senyawa on Drowned By Locals, and a contribution to Clan Destine Records to name a few.

"‘Al’maghfira / Forgiveness’ is the artist’s portrait of a still picture, ‘a mental snapshot of my brain taken in the middle of the currently unfolding events of my life. So many questions arise, what will I become ? Am I waiting for something, why isn't it happening yet? What is it even? What the fuck…’

The album is a conversation between Prophän and the voices in his head, sometimes these voices manifest themselves as a song playing in a loop, other times a raging roar. He protests, then resigns, looking for comfort in magical protection, even though it is not working any more. Truths have unfolded, making his whole world crumble and fall apart. The rage builds up, entering the most primitive mode, by following his instincts and attacking on sight. Then, a state of peace and quiet. Serenity. He turns outwards, looking for beauty in life, looking for God, some kind of protection. Al’maghfira evokes beautiful sorcery entwined with chaotic times, conveying its melancholic emotions into grim electronics. Mediteranos is an independent label that rooted the basis of its idea; Developing our own voice, igniting the fire within, and exploring unknown territories.
