This SoundCloud page features the Sound Art of students taught by Barry Prophet using Audacity Freeware through the TDSB Creates arts enrichment program. The audio files used are from Prophet's library of studio/field recordings & student field recordings. The students worked through a tutorial project created by Prophet in a guide he wrote to introduce features & functions of Audacity Freeware while also presenting basic Sound Art aesthetics. The students were then asked to create compositions addressing the theme of "Their Stories". Their interpretation, arrangement & manipulation of the sounds was left to them. Prophet presented short tutorials during the creative sessions revealing more advanced software features/functions not covered in the sample project. Barry advised on technical questions when asked and refrained from making creative suggestions except when invited to comment.
