The X CLUB. beasts [@itsxclub] have busted out of Brisbane, Australia with Steel City Dance Discs Volume 22. Buckle in as the renegades, known individually as DJ Speed/Jesse Patrick and NORA DRUM, take us on a manic hoon through Electro, Rave and Jungle-informed Techno on this 5-track EP.

Although this is only their first vinyl offence, their criminal record is a hefty one. The delinquents are charged with lawless breaks, aggravated synth chaos, verbal sample assault and series of twisted bass infringements.

OVERMONO - SO U KNO (BEN PROPHET'S CRYING IN THE CLUB EDIT)

Chapeau Music goes from strength to strength here with an amazing produced four-track EP from the up and coming producer hailing from Newcastle: Max Page.

His first ever release kicks off with “Shellin it”, a powerful track dominated by an arpeggiated synth led and a stately kickdrum that sets the tone for what’s to come thanks to well thought out blend vocal sounds with relentless drums throughout. This track gives a proper idea about the Max Page sound right now.
The remix is entrusted to the skilled hands of Oots, a Melbourne-based DJ and Producer that provided a peak time jungle influenced banger remix keeping in mind the soul and the intentions of the Original Mix.
The impressive hardcore aesthetics and sweaty hug energy and overall mood of this remix make it a pure gem to be played out.
“Kudo” has a racy approach on Techno keeping the spirit of the “90s” vibe. Soft rhodes in contrast with pumping synths and short vocal shots. The energetic texture that this track has is driven by few elements well combined on the drumline, all these things make this track a definitely versatile must have inside the DJ bag.
The final track “Poolside” leads us in the happiest part of the ep, a piano house track that perfectly fits the end of this EP. The solid bassline marks the direction to be taken during the dance, the vocal elements help to create an ethereal atmosphere that creates impatient waiting for the various drops. A song that takes us to the poolside, and does it with absolute style.

“With the DGK remix, I have loved that vocal for time now. It was the first vinyl I ever bought and some time around last summer I sampled it and worked on it for my alias “Die Groovige Katze”. Having listened to it then some time ago I just couldn’t help myself from using it again, and I thought the best way to do that was to make a “STITCH” edit, the benefit of having more than one alias!
My concept for this remix was developed by stripping it back, taking some elements from the original while maintaining and incorporating the sound I pose under my STITCH alias. The result is a dark room edit, which can be played in many different venues but maintains a bouncy feel as a nod to the original.”
