The situation we’re witnessing in Gaza is heartbreaking. While the world watches, over 30,000 innocent Palestinian people, many of whom were children, have been killed and over 70,000 more injured in attacks since October 7th. Homes, neighbourhoods and cities have been destroyed, and most of the population has been displaced and left without food, clean drinking water, electricity and fuel.  

The UK government has continued to allow Israel’s bombardment in the region and chosen not to back consistent calls for a ceasefire, despite the overwhelming majority of the UK public being in favour. 

In an effort to raise money for Palestinian aid charities, I’ve reached out to lots of talented artists who have kindly contributed their music to this incredibly important cause.

All proceeds from the compilation will be split 50/50 between two charities who are working hard to provide support and humanitarian aid in Gaza: Medical Aid Palestine and War Child UK.

Oracool, a Ukrainian label currently operating from Berlin, is releasing its first compilation, "Sins".

Oracool started in 2017 as a party series in Kyiv. Back then, its founder, music producer and dj Adelina (Banoffee Pies Records) got together with some friends to throw a party. Gradually, a close-knit community gathered around the project. The events of the last two years have disrupted Oracool’s activities in Ukraine. Today, its community is scattered over the world, yet it remains connected as ever.

In 2024, Oracool transformed into something more than just an event - Adelina registered the eponymous record label with an intent to release musical prophecies featuring Ukrainian and international artists, with a focus on supporting musicians at risk.

The imprint’s debut release is a compilation named "Sins". It’s a tribute to the Oracool’s  friends, and those who have been upholding its community from the very beginning. The compilation brings together tracks from various artists from around the globe, with a special focus on Ukrainian young talents.

The 13 tracks compilation is dedicated to the exploration of broken sound. All tracks are united by an essence of loud and insightful dance rhythm, amplified by an otherworldly layer of mystical melodies. The record is saturated by foolproof tight grooves, making it a perfect tool for keeping the dance floor engaged. It’s a special collection of Electro, Bass, and Techno that marks a new beginning for the Oracool imprint.

Featured on the record are prominent figures of the Ukrainian scene, including Bite Records , Standard Deviation and ∄ resident, Nastya Vogan,  reknown producer and rave legend Koloah,  founder of Strila Artists agency - Travis or Alice, Polygon Records affiliate SVZZ, pioneer of Ukrainian electro sound Radiant Futur, vinyl connoisseur Rustam, rising star from the depths of Carpathians -  Cristopher Bo,  founder of Nowa event series  Ewa Nomad, as well as a promising newcomer - offgridn3ss, and, of course, Adelina herself.

Additionally, the release highlights the co-founder of the ДРОБ collective and event series, German sound artist and producer N.Y.N, Inken, UK-born, Berlin-based maestro of old-school production techniques Aezron, as well as up and coming Egyptian producer 5amaseen, influenced by mahraganat and folkloric music of the Arab world.

The compilation will be available on all platforms on June 1st.

LA-based artists and Sensory Signal co-founder Capes and Adult Hits join forces for the tenth release on Ransom Note offshoot Human Endeavour Records.

Mirroring the sonics that the pair champion at their parties, ‘Stellar Bodies’ explores visceral acid, electro and breakbeats that stimulate the mind, body and soul.

The release launches with single ‘Rush’, a collaboration with fellow Los Angeles artist and vocalist Dick Ensalada. His gruff, raunchy vocals marry perfectly with a driving bassline and squelchy acid to create a pumping acid house track built for sweaty dance floors.

The following three tracks journey across the electro spectrum. ‘Move Your Body’ is powered by plenty of low end, crisp breaks and robotic vocal samples, while title track ‘Stellar Bodies’ lets a haunting synth and bubbling 303 take centre-stage, before ‘Four’ brings the EP to a high octane close with stomping breakbeats and dark, moody pads that swallow you whole.

Amplio Espectro is a Buenos Aires-based label curated by Carolina Stegmayer and Ismael Pinkler, whose entanglement of their names and personal/professional lives gave birth to the duo Carisma. They successfully amassed a true international dream team of collaborators for their forthcoming release: Cornelius Doctor (France), Andrea Paz (Chile), Bryan Kessler (Germany), Aristidez (Peru), Kodemul (Mexico) and Kamila Govorcin (Chile), each one of them taking us on a remix trip adding their hyper-personal touches to two Carisma's tracks: “En tus Sueños” and “Fracciones”.

The track we chose to premiere brings Aristidez delivering a trippy and groovy interpretation of “Fracciones”. The Peruvian artist, who rocked the world with his 2018 release on the almighty Calypso Records, flirts this time with percussive breakbeats and melodic synth layers, providing a cosmic atmosphere, but with his traditional Latin sonority. The result: A curious concoction that enriches the release of the charismatic Argentinian duo.
