After five years of planning, writing, and refining their sound, London-based production duo Kolectiv are set to release their long-awaited debut drum & bass album, Circadian Rhythms.

The project began in the aftermath of the pandemic, when the pair started setting aside tracks that captured the spirit of a night out at a drum & bass event. Their vision was clear: to create an album that reflects the variety, energy, and progression of a rave – from the first beats that pull you into the closing sounds that carry you home.

“Going out to drum & bass nights, you’d hear so many different flavours across six or seven hours. We wanted the album to follow that same arc – like a circadian rhythm, a natural flow of time, but in this case the cycle of a rave,” Kolectiv explain.

To achieve this, the duo placed a strong emphasis on originality and sound design. Most of the album was built from scratch using their own recorded samples, crafted through sessions with keys, drums, and guitars, and only dipping into external sources when absolutely necessary. Vocal collaborations from PAV4N, Hijak MC, Illmatika and Kerry Donnelly add unique flavour to the project, while carefully placed interludes tie the project together as a complete listening experience.

“This isn’t just a collection of tracks. We wanted it to be a journey – a cradle-to-grave kind of experience – with highs, lows, and moments to breathe.”

The title Circadian Rhythms captures that intention perfectly: an audio diary of a night spent immersed in drum & bass culture, told through Kolectiv’s trademark blend of technical precision and emotional depth.

The project also coincided with a complete studio overhaul, giving Kolectiv a fresh environment to finalize and mix down the record with a renewed sense of clarity and focus.

With Circadian Rhythms, Kolectiv deliver more than an album – they present a story, an atmosphere, and a tribute to the music and culture that shaped them.

NEUROPUNK RECORDS takes a retrospective for their latest release, reimagining a selection of tracks from their past releases for the first entry in their NEUROPUNK REMIXED series. Featuring original tracks drawn from the catalogues of NEUROPUNK RECORDS heavyweights including Mizo, Gydra, & Teddy Killerz, and reimagined by Joe Ford, Levela, & Crissy Criss, NEUROPUNK REMIXED V1 delivers a trio of tracks that span a wide portion of the Drum & Bass world for the label’s first such collaborative effort. 

JOE FORD steps up first to add his spin to MIZO’s sinister MECHANICAL PAW, wherein he wastes no time in unleashing an unending torrent of lashing low end frequencies that send the already furious track into an expertly overdriven frenzy. Next comes LEVELA’s remix of GYDRA & TEDDY KILLERZ’ track MILES HIGH from the label’s standout first release. Playing up the tracks funk fueled flow, the stripped back swagger of LEVELA’s signature style shines through to create a deviously dirty down low groove driven by the original’s unmistakeable vocal sample. CRISSY CRISS then takes on TEDDY KILLERZ’ MUTATION for the EP’s final remix, holding nothing back as he experiments on the track’s already massive basses to create devastating reeses and electrified stabs alike as he synthesizes a new form further befitting of its name.

With NEUROPUNK REMIXED V1, NEUROPUNK RECORDS showcase the full breadth of their label’s scope as they invite three pioneering artists to reinterpret a selection of the label’s most notable tracks. From rolling bassline grooves to high tech neurofunk frequencies, NEUROPUNK REMIXED V1 sets the stage for further releases in the series as the NEUROPUNK RECORDS catalogue continues to grow.

Despite hailing from opposite sides of the world
and each having defined careers as solo artists,
South Korea’s Xeomi and Germany’s Kaiza have a
remarkably likeminded approach to producing
drum and bass. Initially known to fans for their
respective contributions to Wobble Warriors and
T3K Recordings, the scrupulous pair have recently cemented a reputation as a formidable duo, concocting a
versatile shared discography spanning brutal neurofunk, intricate techstep and even chugging halftime
creations. Since first joining forces in 2018, the pair quickly noticed their synergy and have formed a de facto
production duo, releasing prolifically on Bad Taste, Red Light, Kosenprod and Citrus Recordings among other
labels. Their next offering, the four-track Cypher EP, marks their second outing via ProtoCode following
2019’s Mito EP, and serves as their ninth collaborative project to date.
First up on the project, the club mix of “Xero” calls upon the vocal talents of decorated New Zealand lyricist
Camo MC, who lays down rave-ready lyrics about his junglist credentials atop a bed of crunchy, distorted
basslines and unorthodox snares. Taking the gas mark up a notch on the hectic and intense “Godlike”, the
duo team up with relative newcomer and Jersey, UK native Xylym to create a brutal neurofunk stepper
dominated by juddering, oscillating basslines and ricocheting breaks.
“Talk To Me” taps the production capabilities of Italian DJ Crimson, whose vast and impressive back
catalogue includes releases on Shogun Audio, Bad Taste and Guidance Music as well as Kaiza’s T3K
Recordings. The result of this intriguing three-way collaboration is a dancefloor-friendly roller, deftly fusing
catchy vocal samples with melodic plucked basslines and darker growls. Closing the EP on a high is a full
vocal mix of “Xero”, enabling fans to enjoy an alternative version of the track featuring Camo spitting
additional lyrics over the track’s contorted drops. It’s an A&R master stroke, concluding this ambitious
international EP by ensuring that fans of one of Oceania’s finest drum and bass labels are treated to a full
display of the Canterbury MC’s barring abilities. Xeomi, Kaiza and ProtoCode have quite literally gone to the
ends of the Earth to put this project together, and the results of these global link-ups speak for themselves.

Having your debut release played by Macky Gee, DJ Hazard, Harriet Jaxxon and Murdock at the world’s biggest drum&bass party is no small feat, but it’s exactly what happened when Bare Up sent out “Pull Up” and all four dj’s gave it a spin at Rampage.
Fast forward 18 months and Bare Up has grown and has expanded his skills, and his output has become more diverse and even better, and his new music is sitting in recordboxes of the likes of Andy C, waiting for this pandemic to be over.
His new EP is set to blow heads out of the water, as it ticks all the right boxes and showcases true craftmanship.

1st track of the EP ‘Let You Go’ kicks off with an amazing vocal, adds captivating melody and ultimately drops into rave-ready trademark bass.
