For episode 67 we present Jakey Rolling, Malmö based DJ & producer and resident at Konstant. With more than a decade of experience behind the decks under various aliases, most notably as one half of the duo Strömlinje. Jakey has played at a long range of venues including everything from festivals & clubs to underground events, raves, release parties and other similar events around Sweden and the Öresund region.

Interview with Jakey Rolling: 

Q: What made you start DJing? 
A: I worked at a nightclub where my friend was constantly bothering the manager for a gig. When he finally got a slot he realised he didn’t know how to DJ. I had a litttle experience with CDJs so I stepped in and helped.
He was not booked again, I stayed on. 

Q: Describe your style in three words. 
A: Red-Eyed Riddims and Rewinds 

Q: Your best set in 2024/2025? 
A: Konstant Open Air last summer B2B w my gunslinger R500. S/o to the pyrotechnichans.

Q: Your favorite track right now? 
A: Skeng - The Bug, Flowdan, Killa P. 

Q: A track you never get tired of? 
A: Family Vacation - Axel Boman. Superb album start to finish, if I had to chose one track: Fantastic Piano

Q: Where can one find the best falafel in Malmö? 
A: Jalla Jalla, always Jalla Jalla.

Q:  A Malmö DJ you want to highlight? 
A: Lasse Bång! An avid vinyl head with immaculate taste. He supplied me with a lot of house music when I was starting out, burned CDs w DJ Kawasaki and Ananda Project come to mind. Also, he almost never plays, which is fun.

Q: What made you start DJing?
A: In the beginning of the pandemic when everything closed down I started to engage more with the rave scene, and to me it felt obvious to start creating music myself.

Q: Describe your style in three words.
A: Melancholic, energetic, hypnotic

Q: Your best set in 2024/2025?
A: In December last year I played my first official gig in the basement of a church (a venue called Skaiv), which is an unforgettable memory for me
