Bucking the trend of modern artists, Hicky & Kalo made their name for carving out a niche in the underground scene as resident DJs at the one of its kind Stereo Club in Montreal, as well as landing releases on some progressive house top labels such as Mango Alley, onedotsixtwo and Replug. And of course by spreading great music trough their own imprint, Plaisir Sonores.

The EP opens with ‘Coming Back Home’, where a dark groove emerges with spiky bass. Lightening the track, pretty arps dance playfully as heavily effected vocal ad libs add depth. One for the late floors waiting for the sun to make its first appearance of the day. 
‘From Sea to Sea’ continues the trend; deep satisfying low end grooves juxtaposed by breezy arps. A muscular, and ultimately danceable floor filler. 
Finally, the pair lay down some ‘Wisdom’(!), a lighter number with tons of character. Ethereal and uplifting, the groove is richly melodic and hypnotic from the off.

We are really excited to welcome Melbourne artist, Mike Rish back to our onedotsixtwo family for his EP debut with us titled Quiet Pines. Mikes last musical rendezvous at onedotsixtwo HQ was back in 2021, with his killer remix of Carla Cimino - Fractal (ODST055). 

Fast Forward 21 months and Mikes career has exploded like a ballistic missile, with a string of releases on some of the most respected labels of today such as Guy J's hallowed Lost & Found imprint and Australia's Vapour Recordings to name a few. 
Accolades like these have propelled to him into becoming one of the most in demand producers of today, with his masterful tracks and talent being embraced and supported by DJ's across the global progressive community. 

This release takes the form of 2 originals with the releases title and massive Quiet Pines and the equally devastating Stormjur. 

Both tracks encapsulate Mikes uniquely diverse and intelligent signature sound design and arrangement, that twist and augment around dark and melancholic hooks and arpeggiated riffs, like a ghost train travelling through a haunted house being steered by dirty baselines and tight drums or breakbeats for those special ‘heads down’ dancefloor moments.

Lisandro has become a firm favourite with the Proton faithful through his meticulously crafted music and elegant melodies. At the forefront of the underground dance scene with his smorgasbord of influences and genre-defying work, the Argentinean producer has seen his work feature on such esteemed imprints as Songuara, Amulanga and Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas. A notable body of work can also be found on Lisandro's own Flug Lab imprint which continues to go from strength to strength as over a half-century of production credits chart a maturing path. No more is this evident than in February 2023's "Recurrence Soundtracks Netflix" which showcases a dozen electronica inspired pieces that formed the sonic background for the Netflix Spanish language film of the same name.

Proton Music has also seen the Lisandro sound well represented by both original and remix work. A trio of remixes for Erdi Irmak, Magitman and Cream saw the Buenos Aires resident make his presence felt in 2020 and 2021, before December 2022's "Traditions" took centre stage with its luscious soundscapes and head-shaking grooves.

Now returning to Proton Music, the "Eclectic" EP highlights another three tracks rich in imagination and elegant production work. In this musical triptych, Lisandro has explored a host of new ideas, giving rise to a powerful vision and unique sonic identity by pushing the envelope of modern electronic music. Perhaps the last word should be left to the artist himself, with Lisandro having the following to say about his new musical offering.

"I present to you my new EP: "Eclectic". This title reflects my vision of creating music that is a fusion of diverse influences and styles. "Eclectic" is a term used in the musical context to describe an approach that encompasses a wide range of influences and genres, blending them in a unique and original way. In this EP, I have pushed the boundaries of electronic music, merging elements from different genres to create an intriguing and diverse listening experience. Each track in "Eclectic" represents my passion for experimentation and the creation of unique sonic landscapes and club grooves. Immerse yourself in my eclectic musical world and discover the magic of style fusion! D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music opens the fall season by welcoming Luciano Capomassi and Martin Fredes for their first appearance on the label. Based in Argentina and Spain respectively, both Luciano and Martin have gotten their production careers off to an impressive start. Although less than five years into their journey, the duo boasts a combined discography highlighted by releases via AMITABHA, Droid9, RYNTH, The Purr and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden. Often finding the creative space between progressive and organic house, Luciano and Martin now combine their extensive forces for the first time, making their SLC-6 Music debut with 'Midnight Mirage', alongside a remix from Weird Sounding Dude. Further diversifying their portfolio, Luciano and Martin craft an uplifting progressive groover that both new and old fans of the genre will appreciate. Aimed squarely at the dancefloor, the duo's smooth chugging basslines, hopeful pads, and emotive melodies unite in a colourful marriage, ultimately leading to a captivating break. As one of India's rising musical mavericks, Weird Sounding Dude has emerged from his country's electronic landscape as a premiere progressive house talent. Long a favourite of genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Cid Inc, the Bangalore resident often touches on disparate themes and sounds, straddling the divide between intergalactic design and groove-centric hypnotism. With a career that now spans a decade, Weird Sounding Dude has compiled an impressive discography with standout releases via Anjunadeep, Hoomidaas, The Soundgarden and Sudbeat Music. Now, making his SLC-6 Music debut, Weird Sounding Dude puts his inimitable production touch on 'Midnight Mirage'. Warm basslines and rebounding rhythms set the course for snatches of metallic arps, siren-like sonics and bright percussive arrays. A gorgeous contrast from the Indian artist, and one which is explored further across a cosmically correct break. A haze of trailing effects sets the backdrop for percolating clusters to build tension with each successive pass, before Weird Sounding Dude's progressive attitude reveals itself during a commanding drop and groove-centric finale.
