Learning that Kabi hails from Argentina might not be surprising, given the country's growing reputation for its deep pool of progressive talent. However, at just 24 years old, he stands as one of the most accomplished, boasting a host of signings on some of the world's top tastemaker labels. Here, he makes his Balance debut with a diverse trio of tracks aimed squarely at the heart of the dancefloor.

‘Venom’ is a progressive tech workout meant for big, main room floors. A heavy, distorted warning siren effect hooks you in while subtle psychedelic flourishes dance around the chaos. The drums feel as thick as granite, and the slight portamento on the bassline keeps you on your toes. Striking with the force of a pit of vipers, this track is a true monster.

A stellar exploration of deep progressive, 'Misti' is filled with gentle yet fluctuating pads. An arpeggiated melodic line and a deep, dark synth add depth to the main narrative, all underscored by warm drums and a deep, chugging bassline. In the breakdown, a swelling melody rises, giving way to a drop that ties everything together in a satisfying bow.

On 'Switch,' the energy is more moody without ever taking itself too seriously. A probing melodic motif, which ends in a question mark at the end of its phrase, is accentuated by accompanying woodblocks, claves, and other crumbling percussion, all riding atop energetic drums and a driving bassline. In the breakdown, it’s straight-up dance floor glory: as each element falls away, a digital riser adds pressure that releases into dropped euphoria. Another bomb for adventurous dancefloors.

D.J. MacIntyres SCL-6 Music rounds out the month of September with a debut collaboration from Dr Green and HAZEY (PK). Hailing from Sri Lanka, Daniel Claessen aka Dr Green has been one of SLC-6s core artists since making his debut in 2022 with a contribution to the SIX: Stage-11 collection. The next two calendar years would see Daniel deliver seven originals and two remixes for the American imprint, while also finding a home on Droid9 and La Foresta, amongst others. Meanwhile, HAZEY (PK) has the distinction of being one of the first female DJs from Islamabad, and also the first ever female producer of progressive & organic house from Pakistan. With a contribution to the Comet Records Delve Into PAKISTAN II collection in August, HAZEY (PK) now embarks on her first ever collaboration, teaming up with Dr Green for her SLC-6 debut Serpens, alongside remixes from Kyotto, Influence & Anurag Nandvanshi and Federico Monachesi. Combining their talents Dr Green and HAZEY (PK) craft a cross-cultural progressive house cut thats aimed squarely at the dancefloor. Exotic percussive arrangements, didgeridoos, mysterious vocal chants and ceremonial toplines converge, highlighting what is an enlightening journey. Making his label debut with the first remix of Serpens is CRFT Music boss Kyotto. As one of Sri Lankas foremost progressive house talents, the Colombo resident brings his stripped back style to the track, utilizing the parts sparingly for a dubbier but equally effective version for your arsonal. Indian duo Influence & Anurag Nandvanshi are up next and arrive on the label following releases for Vitium Records and JOOF Aura respectively. The duo bring their groovy style to the piece, crafting strong driving basslines and rolling rhythms to carry an array of orbiting effects and the primary themes from the original. Rounding out the release is Federico Monachesi who makes his label debut following a remix for Daniel Testas and Movement Recordings. The veteran Argentinean talent gives the track a nostalgic slant with a classic progressive groove, dynamic percussive arrangements and strong tonal themes which marry perfectly with the distinctive vocal elements.
