'The latest release on Hicky & Kalo's label Plaisirs Sonores Records is a scintillating package, which brings together two titans of the progressive scene. The EP features two progressive house legends; Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren alongside their collaborators Soundexile and Nicolas Rada. They have both remixed tracks taken from the most recent Hicky & Kalo EP 'Borealis'.

It's been quite a ride for Hicky & Kalo in the last 18 months. The young duo have made a name for themselves in the progressive house scene with a string of quality releases, including a collaboration with Seth Schwarz and releases on Hernan Cattaneo's label Sudbeat and Cid Inc's label Replug. In the meantime, they were remixed by both Rodriguez Jr. and Sahar Z. The reaction to their latest EP 'Borealis' was quite something and the title track was even in the Top 100 Beatport Progressive House for 67 days.

With this powerhouse remix EP now on the way, it is surely the cherry on top of a momentous last 18 months. We hope you enjoy it!'

No stranger to the progressive community, Monojoke's productions can be found on well-revered imprints like JOOF Aura, Soundteller, Balkan Connection and ICONYC to name a few, while his collaborative project 'Fluente', together with Tuxedo, saw releases on Hernan Cattaneo's "Sudbeat Music" as well as Hot Since 82's "Knee Deep In Sound", with a new appearance on Nick Warren's "The Soundgarden". From his debut appearance on Juicebox Music via his remix of Subandrio's "Sigiriya" back in 2016 to his "Arterials" EP in 2017, we welcome Poland's very own - Monojoke, aka Jacek Gumbisz, back to the imprint with another peak-time 2-tracker EP, making his mark as one of our label's most esteemed artists. Both "Cold City" and "Superficial" feature his signature percussive-driven groove, driving basslines and larger-than-life atmospheric melodies, creating monstrous epic moments in sets. 

The sole remixer for this EP is Netherland's wonder-kid - Kasper Koman. Even though he's been producing for nearly over a decade, he recently burst into the scene with his fresh and unique style, highlighted by his releases on Guy Mantzur's "Plattenbank", Sonic Union's "Lowbit", Paul Hazendonk's "Manual Music" and more recently Mike Koglin and MoodFreak's "YOMO". His music transcends the traditional 'genre' expectations, providing a much-needed palette cleanser. Kasper's remix of Monojoke's "Cold City" is a masterclass testament to his technique - tight drums, a funk-inspired bassline, sprinkled cosmic effects while twisting and morphing the original parts to give a new life without losing sight of the dancefloor.

'Argentinean talent Paul Deep debuts on Plaisirs Sonores Records with his first release: the 'Medusa' EP. Two great remixes from Dabeat and John Cosani complete this amazing package.

Paul's workman-like focus and laser-precise beats have caught the imagination of a lot of the elite players in the scene and we are pretty certain that we are dealing here with an artist that has a very bright future ahead.

This release shows Paul maturity and musical development as we kick off with the deep, hypnotic warm melodic layers of Medusa, interspersed with subtle effective percussion while the drop is filled with an indescribable wash of tension.

Dabeat uses the same endless tension that fills the original track and brings a memorable new melody after the drop to create a monstrous remix that will move every dancer on the dance-floor.

The rapidly thriving onedotsixtwo label launches its 2020 campaign with yet another essential release, this time from the multitasking main man himself, Tripswitch, who has masterminded an incredible refreshing of his classic ‘Box Fresh’ track, having enlisted the studio skills of Emi Galván, Forerunners and Nicolas Rada, alongside him on remix duty.

“‘Box Fresh’ was a really significant track for me when it first came out on the ‘Propulsion EP’ in 2014. It was one of the first progressive tracks I wrote where I felt I’d successfully struck the right formula between my own production style, which was more rooted in epic, euphoric chillout, and an up-to-date progressive house sound.” - Tripswitch

The original track’s significance (represented by the 2020 Remaster in this new package) grew exponentially when it became one of the first Tripswitch tracks (after his remix of Seamless ‘Castle In the Sky’ on Section Records) that Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo really hammered in their sets and was thus pivotal in establishing Tripswitch on the progressive path, ultimately leading to the birth of onedotsixtwo.

With an ethos to seek out and feature the finest world-class talent within the underground progressive house scene, Tripswitch has teamed up with rising Argentinian superstar Nicolas Rada (who is making a huge impression on the scene right now) to open proceedings. This creative dream team’s ability to tease out the essential original mind-blowing beauty of ‘Box Fresh’ with their deeply delicious 2020 ReFresh is quite astonishing. By composing a magnificently subtle, tantalizing, soaring, new melodic masterpiece, they set the stage perfectly for this truly outstanding remix package.

Another Buenos Aires resident, the exceptionally multi-talented Emi Galván, brings his own unique vision to ‘Box Fresh’. Emi has earned a reputation as a kind of crown prince of uplifting electronic music and here he injects his infectious blend of bounce and funk to proceedings to launch the track to a higher level of energetic abandonment, juxtaposing irresistible melodic hooks with euphoric percussive flourishes to create an absolutely monstrous dancefloor experience. Emi’s remix has already been cited by Nick Warren as one of the biggest tracks of his DJ sets.

Arizona USA’s Brenden LaBonte (aka Forerunners) makes a welcome return to onedotsixtwo with his outstanding remix. A sophisticated interwoven blend of skippy percussion, meandering bassline groove and lush layers of hypnotic melody, create a marvellous drifting sea of tranquil beauty. It is a wonderfully subtle journey from the masterful DJ/Producer who always creates a stir amongst discerning underground progressive house fans worldwide

Tripswitch - Box Fresh (Emi Galvan Remix)

Trilucid & Phil Martyn have long been associated with high-quality music in a distinguished career. Exceptional DJs and producers in their own rights, their combined talents have reaped impressive rewards. A double century of credits for Trilucid have seen the UK duo hit the heights on the likes of Perfecto, Black Hole and Coldharbour while their "Glint" EP for Proton Music was a September 2019 highlight. Similarly, Phil Martyn has found himself on a blue-chip array of imprints with his work for JOOF, Perspectives Digital and Black Hole. Combined work saw "Gone" feature on Particles in late 2018, while a remix of Stas Drive in March 2019 is now followed by a debut original track in "Astral". Characterised by a strong bouncing bassline groove whose progression adds a touch of emotive class, a series of rich melodic elements rise and fall around it to create a wonderful spine-tingling atmosphere that is certain to find favour with a host of DJs on a global stage. A strong beat and dynamic percussion add further dancefloor appeal as sparkling, delayed riffs provide Sasha-esque quality in the third movement.

Dmitry Molosh is an artist who consistently dines at underground music's top table with his incredible music. Able to transport his listeners on a wave of emotion through production work that has found its way onto a host of high-profile imprints that include Sudbeat Music, Hope and Replug, the Belarusian artist has seen his music supported by the likes of Nick Warren, Guy J and Hernan Cattaneo. Over 400 production credits tell their own story and a Proton Music debut remixing Kastis Torrau's "Route 88" was another notable highlight in August 2019. Returning to remix Trilucid & Phil Martyn, the Dmitry Molosh remix is a chugging combination of bass and rhythmic flair that builds on the dynamic bassline of the original. Taking the melodic essence of "Astral" and building on it with an array of production material, new motifs shimmer across the mid-range in atmospheric fashion, building to a crescendo in a storming breakdown that then drops back into glorious, head-shaking rhythm in the third movement.

Completing the EP, Steve Haines debuts on Proton Music with his Bluum production moniker. Responsible for a string of melodic gems under his own name, the UK resident has hit a rich vein of form with his new alter-ego. The Paul Thomas led UV has been a regular home to the Bluum name with a raft of original and remix material that has seen him find success with the likes of "Weyland", "Kepler" and "Rodea" while also remixing Jan Johnston, Paul Thomas and Aly & Fila. Furthermore, mau5trap, JOOF and Mango Alley have all featured Bluum's work. A debut for Particles remixing Rudy's "Real You" was a further high point as he now debuts on Proton Music with a stunning reworking of Trilucid & Phil Martyn. Making clever use of percussive hooks to anchor the track, familiar melodic phrases filter through the rhythmic framework before a glorious new arpeggio sequence explodes into the front of the mix. A spine-tingling key change at the breakdown paves the way for a dynamic second half that truly captures the essence of the original, taking it in a new and vibrant direction.

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint continues a strong spring season by showcasing new interpretations of Eric Lune's ‘Embers'. Originally released in October of 2019, it's smooth yet euphoric moods saw play from Hernan Cattaneo, while also being one of the Aussie artist's best selling tracks of the year. Now looking to revive this musical gem for the warm months ahead, Sound Avenue invites Death On The Balcony and GMJ to re-imagine the track.

Sitting at the heart of the organic house underground are Death On The Balcony. Arriving on the scene more than a decade ago, the UK duo have compiled an impressive resume, highlighted by releases on All Day I Dream, Akbal Music, Do Not Sit On The Furniture and Kindisch. In what has proven to be a fruitful creative partnership the duo continue to earn the praise of their contemporaries and tastemakers alike. Now following a remix for Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas imprint, Death On The Balcony debut on Sound Avenue with a gorgeous take on ‘Embers'. Coming in smooth and percussion, it's a rich, soulful and incredibly charming nine minute journey. Redolent tones, ghostly vocal fragments and exotic drums build an inviting narrative, as strummy hooks and melodic flurries steal the air at opportune moments. Perfectly timed, the main break brings a greater sense of calm, a heartfelt interlude of sorts, before a stripped down section provides an energy bridge into a percussive drop and charismatic finale.

Completing the release and providing the second and final interpretation of ‘Embers' is GMJ who makes his label debut. Based in Melbourne, Australia GMJ aka Gavin Martin has been a primary figure in the progressive house scene for over a decade. His passion for deep and emotive electronic music has seen him land releases on the industry's most esteemed imprints. From Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music to Cid Inc's Replug Records and UK behemoth Anjunadeep, it's GMJ's storytelling style that continues to surprise and inspire even the genre's most discerning fans. Now following an EP for his newly formed ‘Meanwhile' imprint, GMJ debuts on Sound Avenue with a stunning rendition of ‘Embers'. With a perfect blend of creativity and emotion, the Aussie artist deconstructs the main elements into a gorgeous effervescent theme. Symphonic overlays and buzzing sonics marry perfectly with the euphoric motifs, while a robust foundation translate those impassioned qualities to the dance floor. An exceptional remix from GMJ, capping off a well rounded remix edition for Eric Lune's ‘Embers'.
