Gruuv-founders Audiojack will be releasing the second single from their forthcoming album this April. Feels Good, produced in collaboration with esteemed singer-songwriter Jem Cooke, will land on Crosstown Rebels and includes a remix from melodic techno talent Patrice Bäumel. This is the second single to be released ahead of the album with Under Your Skin, made with Kevin Knapp, being the first.

Speaking on the release, Audiojack stated that: “Crosstown introduced us to Jem a few years ago through a remix. Jem is an amazing songwriter, her flawless vocals are great to work with and resonate well with our sound.”

Jem Cooke echoed the duo’s praise, describing how: “The collaboration with Audiojack came about after their remix of So Long - a track I did with Made By Pete. The boys are amazing and I loved what they did with that remix so when they asked if I'd be up for trying something new together, I obviously said yes.”

Feels Good sets off swiftly, merging prominent kick-clap combos with shimmering pulses throughout. It’s a real peak-time number, enhanced by Jem’s touching vocal offering, that showcases the stripped-back and ethereal theme of the single. Patrice Bäumel’s remix soon arrives and brings with it a poignant combination of celestial pads and rolling synth tones, as Jem’s stunning lyrical contributions magnify the track’s moving nature once more.

Leeds-born and now based in Ibiza, Audiojack have been at the forefront of electronic music for over a decade. In recent times the Gruuv-label founders have released their Isolation Tapes series to widespread industry acclaim, using music to provide a way out from the feelings of anxiety caused by lockdown and separation. UK singer-songwriter Jem Cooke is no stranger to Crosstown Rebels. First debuting on the label in 2018 alongside Made By Pete on So Long, it was later that year that Audiojack went on to remix the single. More recently, Jem collaborated with Damian on Into The Sun from his 2020 Flourish LP. A well-established member of the Crosstown Rebels family, Patrice Bäumel is one of Germany’s greatest exponents. Recent productions on Watergate Records and Systematic Recordings continue to showcase the emotive sound with which he’s become best known, whilst his performance at DGTL’s virtual festival last year marked another step in his ever-flourishing career.

We welcome Jelly For The Babies and Buba to Monog Records with the superb debut Emocija EP. Both these guys have amassed extensive back catalogues over the years, garnering much respect from their peers. From a young age, JFTB was into electronic music and, since 2007, he has been honing his studio skills in the production of various genres of music. He manages three labels and boasts worldwide support. Buba is considered one of the most promising producers to come out of Montenegro. Currently he is enjoying the release of his studio album – Dreamlands, and we’ve no doubt his creativity will grab a lot of attention. We’re delighted to have both on board.

The Original Mix of Let creates a solid, driving break beat groove. Chunky beats and bright hats are joined by exotic percussions which takes us deeper into the vibe. Dark stabs and a strong, pulsating bass lead us deeper as cosmic synths add a melodic charm to the groove. The break adds serene beach ambience as the synths open up for maximum impact before the beats return for the duration. Not to be missed.

First up on the remix we have Christopher Ivor's Daydream version of Let. Christopher is no stranger to Monog having debuted here with The Dreamscape EP. Growing up with music steered him to take the DJ, producer path he is on now. Over the years his style has become very broad and eclectic and this is something we love to celebrate. Here, Christopher delivers a beautifully composed and enchanting cut with a distinct Balearic vibe that makes you long for a trip to the White Isle. Buttery smooth beats and warm basses are joined by sounds of the beach and that rich, whispered yet hair-raising vocal. Melodic arpeggios become infectious as we’re lured into the mesmeric groove. Top-notch stuff that does not disappoint.

The Original Mix of Talas is a deeper affair, with sub level basses droning on the low end. The bass produces a powerful response with emotive changes, complimenting the rising and intense strings and synths. Rhythmic percussions and a nice punchy kick force you to move while the tensions rise. The break unleashes the full force of the stacked synths, taking us to a higher plain and making this an absolute must have.

Mario Neha debuts on Monog with a wonderful remix of Talas. Switzerland based DJ, producer Mario, boasts a wide and varied catalogue of releases over the years. He runs his own imprint called Inyan Music, releasing quality cuts at every turn. Great to have him here. On the remix here, Mario adds an extra sprinkling of grunt to the groove with those plucky synth basses which are contrasted with wispy pads and scattered FX. Rich and dynamic, the track exists on a multi-layered construction moving between the light and the dark with changing emotions. Beautifully worked and deftly executed, this one is a must have.

Owner and namesake, Mango, continues to make a long-awaited return to the scene. In just the last year, he's produced a couple remixes and collabs. The Russian luminary now joins forces with a red hot duo. Like many times before, TH;EN contributes melodic house and techno of the highest caliber. “Narere” sees another trending artist, Hannes Wiehager, debut on the label. Ahead of two in-house offerings, his take invokes heavy bass among intricate sound design.

Through Golan Zocher & Eric Lune, Proton Music is delighted to showcase "North to South. Remixes come from outstanding Polish and Belarusian artists.

With impressive artistic pedigrees in their own rights, Golan Zocher & Eric Lune have individually found success with a host of impressive production credits to their name. Owner of the Bloom Records imprint, Zocher has seen his own music feature on the likes of JOOF, Perspectives Digital, and fellow countryman Juan Pablo Torrez's Clubsonica Records. Similarly, Eric Lune has been a staple on such celebrated imprints as 3rd Avenue, Juicebox Music and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank. Remixing GMJ's "Mystic Sea" for Proton in June 2020, Golan Zocher now joins forces with Eric Lune as the Colombian/Australian axis deliver a glorious, bouncing progressive house gem as a head-shaking bass groove and shaker-fuelled percussive top-line combine with harmonically detuned analogue chords and delicate keys that shimmer in rich delays. Building to a crescendo at the the mid-point breakdown, the track rises and falls with ease to dramatic effect. A beautifully crafted "Ambient Edit" adds an extra dimension as rhythmic elements are stripped away to reveal a glorious array of motifs and melodies that cascade and coruscate in counterpoint fashion to produce a wonderfully evocative edit.

Requiring very little in the way of introduction, Kobana bids a very welcome return to the label. A regular on the Proton Music roster, the Polish artist's ability to create unique and immaculately balanced material has seen a raft of releases centred around 2014's full-length album "The Riddle". The "Freefall" and "Boyhood" EPs in 2015 and 2016 continued an impressive catalogue of original material, while a 2018 remix of Dousk is now followed by a classic remix that revels in a sustained bassline sequence that is the perfect foundation for a glorious array of melodies to swirl and soar above in highly energised fashion. Building with ease and making immaculate use of Zocher & Lune's original components, the result is a dancefloor stormer that is propelled forward with thumping kick and off-beat percussion seeing Kobana make a stunning return to Proton Music.

Michael A is another Proton Music regular with a long and distinguished career with the label. Starting on Particles with his "Behind the Moon" and "Sapphire" EPs in 2014 and 2017, a clutch of originals saw "Bright Hope", "My Style", "Aura Tears", "Geometria" and "Twinkling Stars", light up the label between 2017 and 2020 with a distinctive and evolving melodic sound. Remixes for the likes of James Monro, Rauschhaus and James Warren are now accompanied by a stunning interpretation of "North to South". A smooth and silky use of the central melody from the Zocher & Lune original has created a Sasha-esque remix that is reminiscent of the legend's "Airdrawndagger" sound with its cascading and overlapping delays. A typically impressive rhythm section provides percussive power aplenty as counterpoint melodies and new distorted motifs add depth and range to a highly impressive offering.

"I'm sorry," David said. He turned at the door of the storeroom and walked out and then down to his work room at the end of the hotel. Inside the room he opened the big Vuitton suitcase. The pile of cahiers that the stories had been written in was gone. Socko is a beacon of hope in a dark warehouse. This is his first offering for Shango Records. These three tracks will help you find your way home. Mujia & Tajo, Majnoon and Chomba are taking the bond out of the acid.
