Quetame Records (@quetamerecords) is a new deep and organic house label that’s headed up by a trio of artists including El Mundo (@elmundomusicpage & Zazou (@zazou-berlin) and Niki Sadeki (@nikisadeki)	
			
The debut release is a stunning four-track EP by El Mundo & Zazou whose eloquent style of soaring melodies fused with delicate percussion is on full display.			

Based in The Netherlands, El Mundo has performed as a DJ and live-act together with Zazou across The World and released music on labels such as Do Not Sit On The Furniture Recordings, Kindisch, Souq Records and Earthly Delights.

Zazou is a Berlin-based artist, multi-instrumentalist and regular collaborator with El Mundo, but he has also released solo tracks with imprints such as Laut und Luise and Rebellion der Traumer.

This truly is a magical EP with stunning vocals amidst its dazzling array of vibrant textures and nomadic grooves.				

“Sands of Time” opens the release with its soothing atmosphere and haunting vocals nestled amidst a dreamscape of ethereal synths which are underpinned by a throbbing bassline.		

Second on the EP with jovial melodies and digitised vocals, “Watch Me Burn” has a cosmic vibe that sets a trajectory towards the stars with its expansive sound design.

After a cinematic opening, “The River” is third on the release with its haunting vocals and poignant piano. Like a choir of angels, it's eloquently beautiful while also retaining an understated aesthetic.					
“Golden Skies” closes out the EP with fluttering synths and crisp percussive textures that combine to create a hypnotising groove with intimate emotion and majestic grace.
		
The artwork has been designed by the talented Anna Schnorf / Obic.

Following on from the success of last year’s ​Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun​, Bedouin are back on Crosstown with two original and evocative creations.

“‘Wastelands’ is a special one for us that carries a message about the journey of humanity. ‘Flamma’, was made with the dance floor in mind using live percussive elements with a Hurdy-gurdy lead played by Guilhem Desq who flew from Toulouse to London to record last winter.”- Bedouin 

Wastelands sets the precedence for the EP with its melancholic ambience and poignant lyrics delivered from one half of the duo Rami. Flamma adopts heavier instrumental sections that create an eerie atmosphere with a pensive and dramatic build up. 

Brooklyn-based nomads Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe together form the DJ and production partnership of Bedouin. ​Since its incarnation, they’ve achieved notable success, with Mixmag naming them their number one Breakthrough Act of 2017. In the same year they launched their hugely successful residency, Saga, at Ibiza’s Heart. They’ve brought their distinct sound to a number of hot labels including Get Physical, Supernature, Cityfox, Kindisch and All Day I Dream. With their diverse musical influences clear in their productions, Bedouin look set to open up their sound to all the far-flung corners of the world.

Joep Mencke, one of the happies campers of them all, and his soul-propelling masterpiece, Asiri, is the perfect piece of music to usher in the Spring. “Music takes me on a journey. A journey that makes me want to close my eyes and wander off to wherever the melodies take me,” Joep has been quoted as saying. And the ‘me’ that wanders when eyes are closed is the essence of ‘me’ that dreams. Some would call that the soul.

With soaring melodies, complex arpeggiators and moments of reflective dimuendos, it pays homage to Joep’s journey and appreciation into music. From the DJ’s deck, Asiri has consistently brought people together on the dance floor. It’s as if Asiri reminds people to celebrate just being alive with all it’s complex, reflective and soaring moments.

These living legends of the progressive scene have graced Asiri with their unique touch. They could hear that the music wants to keep reaching for greater heights but found away to keep the sound grounded enough to connect with every listener.

With a hefty back catalog of releases and an ever-evolving style, Berlin mainstay Niko Schwind dives into his introspective side on the Amari EP, which boasts four original tracks including a collab with DJ, producer and vocalist Felix Raphael.

Opener Circles is a tangle of dreamy pads and wistful vocals, with gleaming synths and undulating drums complementing Felix Raphael’s pensive lyrical incantations.

A walk on the tribal side, Kala combines introspective melodies with relentless percussion. Indigenous chants accent the mystic rave atmosphere, building up to an immersive, hypnotizing climax. Equally mesmerizing, but channeling a more constant energy is Amari, taking us on a dynamic journey with occasional bursts of sonic color.
