Hugely successful artists in their own their own rights, Dabeat & Kamilo Sanclemente have formed a prolific and fruitful creative partnership since a debut remix of Alfonso Muchacho’s “Things Change” on Stellar Fountain in 2016. Since then, the Colombian duo have seen their original work feature on the likes of Timeless Moment, Perfecto Black, Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and D-Nox’s Sprout. A partnership that commands respect and support from a global fraternity of fans and peers alike, Dabeat and Kamilo Sanclemente now join forces once more with a pair of original offerings on Dmitry Molosh’s ever-impressive label.

“Interstellar Pulse” quickly gathers pace with its pounding kick and complex rhythmic arrangement. Evolving easily through its club-friendly character, a sub-bassline syncopates tightly against the grooved backdrop before a series of light and airy melodic phrases complement each other. Cascading and entwined with interlocking threads, they juxtapose against the weight of the bass and kick. An additional series of components arrive at the breakdown courtesy of new sustained bassline and cadenced synth motif before hitting its stride once more in the third movement to devastating dancefloor effect.

Following the rhythmic narrative of its partner track, “Night Clouds” is infused with a sultry bass presence, rolling groove and shaker-infused top-line. Developing with consummate ease and intimate dancefloor knowhow, a central melody shines brightly through a meticulously assembled cast of sonic characters as it coruscates gently through the early stages in shimmering delays. Finding new direction after a pause for breath at the spine-tingling mid-section, a popping, cadenced synth line opens up post-breakdown to create a new focus in the second half before the familiar motif returns to glorious open-filtered effect in the final stages.

A pair of new tracks find Dabeat and Kamilo Sanclemente as a central star in the progressive house firmament with “Interstellar Pulse / Night Clouds”.

Kamilo Sanclemente - Anagram (Mayro Extended Remix) [Univack]

Bursting onto the Progressive House scene in mid-2020, Fausto Javier Loza has carved out quite a name for himself with his FJL production moniker. Since a debut on Balkan United, the Argentinean producer has found his music allied to such esteemed imprints as sister Madlochs Sound Avenue and 3rd Avenue, Roger Martinezs HIGHER STATES and Mangos all-conquering Mango Alley. Now the Rosario resident from the province of Sante Fe, debuts on Proportion with a 3-track EP of the highest order as FJL presents his Alter Ego / Losstower / Rare Wizards EP. With a deep, fizzing bassline narrative running throughout the triptych, Alter Ego is a chunky rhythmic powerhouse that sees a chest-thumping kick paired with a deliciously grooved bass pattern creating a sublime rolling pattern. A kaleidoscopic array of effects and risers are scattered across the 6-minute piece as a delicate arpeggiated melody gradually evolves from the low-end foundation. Pulsating white-noise washes and a hypnotic dance-floor vibe add to proceedings in an impressive opener. A Tech House vibe infuses Losstower with its plethora of stereo-panned effects and sub-bass groove. A series of cleverly treated vocal effects add to the sonic melange with their eerie overtones, while meticulously programmed hats and shakers provide dancefloor urgency. Subtle melodic flourishes add to the overall feel and the result is a production masterclass from the FJL studio. The final offering sees Rare Wizards immediately showcase its club-friendly credentials through house rhythm and hypnotic bass sequence. In keeping with its partner tracks, a flurry of deep, dark and powerful effects make their presence felt alongside evolving textures and immaculate melodic touches. Layer upon layer of evermore intricate sounds come to the fore, felt especially keenly at the powerfully pulsing breakdown, before returning to the dramatic rhythmic urgency and plethora of effects that create a track bringing to mind such maestros such as John Digweed, Quivver and Jamie Stevens.

D-Nox and André team up once more for ‘Sessions Part 1’

Clearly, a collaboration that works for both artists, ‘Sessions’ represents the next phase for the multinational pairing. Whether remixing each other or appearing on the same labels, D-Nox and André’s musical blueprint is finely tuned, as they continue to grow together artistically.

Opening with ‘Discovery’, we immediately deep dive into a world of liquid cool beats, icy pads, and gated vocals. Smooth and chuggy, the track develops a wickedly warm vibe among the deep keys and cinematic sweeps. Uniquely familiar and something you’ll likely hear for a long time to come.

Next up, ‘Cosmic’ follows suit. Rubbery bass and sparse percussion make way for keyed melodics and ethereal vocals. Creating a deeply spiritual sound that transcends current trends, it harks back to the essence of the original prog sound - hard but groovy, fast but trancey. Truly a work of genius.

Rounding out the trio, ‘Brisa’ has housier feels. More robust and upfront than its brothers, it’s a spiky assault of the senses that bristles with peak time energy. The breaks are all about hands in the air and knowing smiles of appreciation; the melodies about the swaying enjoyment of finally reaching that blissful disconnect from your problems.

You owe it to yourselves to own this EP. It’s phenomenal.
