I made this remix after discovering the original track and being moved by its ethnic spirit and the soul of Bashkortostan, where Ay Yola come from. Their unique blend of ancient Bashkir folk traditions with modern sounds inspired me to reinterpret the track in a progressive house style while keeping its essence. I’m sharing this version as a personal tribute to their culture and music—hope you feel the same connection I did.

I highly recommend checking out the original track, as well as exploring the group and the region they come from, to fully feel the inspiration behind this remix.

As we mentioned before, Siamese will not just be a platform for beautiful music but should also a playground for different kinds of art. As you might have already noticed, our artworks are images of hand-crafted pieces and with this Various Artists EP we are taking things one step further. Every track gets its very own artwork and all four artworks will be included as 30x30cm sized prints inside the first run of the vinyl!

The A1 cut 'Something In Between‘ by ourselves is starting off this EP. Right about one year ago when we worked on a first attempt of our debut album we didn’t quite came to an end a few tracks stayed with us. This is one of them and we felt the intro character of it is a good way to lead into this series. 

A2 is delivered by our close friend and partner Lehar who teamed up with Olderic, a respected DJ, producer and promoter from north Italy who is around since quite a while (check out his Cirq club in Venice). Their contribution 'Il Sole' follows the melodic route initiated by 'Something In Between'. 

On the flip side we finally get the chance to introduce Shiffer, a young and very talented musician from Basel. 'Drunk On Hope' demonstrates groove, emotion, depth and much more that makes it the perfect pick for B1. Watch out for more to come from him on Siamese!

Closing the EP on B2 is ‚Monkey Mind‘ by Toto Chiavetta. 2016 was a great year for Toto, what an awesome album on Yoruba followed by a trippy-afro-house Record on Innervisions. 'Monkey Mind' continues exactly there, straight forward Groove without any compromises.

After the successful re-launch of Magnitude Recordings where we've welcomed new music by label owner Francesco Pico as well as Ezequiel Anile & Nicolas Petracca's fresh EANP project. And with industry big shots Pole Folder, Kasper Koman and Chris Cargo on remix duties, this time we feel it's time to give an upcoming talent a podium to showcase his music.

Buenos Aires born and raised Exequiel Catania started his Dynacom project in 2015. A musical project dedicated entirely to deep & progressive sounds, heavily influenced by artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Sasha, among others.

The skilled Argentinian producer has already managed to built up quite an impressive discography, with releases on labels such as Balkan Connection, Soundteller Records and his own Auditen Music.

We're very happy to welcome him on board- as his sound perfectly fits the funky and groovy progressive house taste of label head honcho Francesco Pico. Three tracks of pure dance floor bliss here, which can only be the start of more to come from the Dynacom vs Magnitude connection!

We continue our journey through South America with another fresh new talent from Argentina, Santi Cebrero. His Lowbit debut EP 'Pericles' starts off with eponymous 'Pericles' a deep and vibrant track with its lush pads and detailed melodies. "The latest release on Tash’s Movement Recordings welcomes Simos Tagias back to the label for a brand new EP entitled ‘Illumination’. The Greek artist has become a mainstay of label roster with this being his tenth appearance. As one of the most recognized names in progressive house, the Athens resident has showcased his music on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Cid Inc’s Replug Records, Beatfreak Recordings and Sound Avenue. Now fresh off a remix for Praveen Achary’s Juicebox Music, Simos makes a welcome return to Movement Recordings with a new EP alongside a remix from James Trystan.

Beginning with the title and showcase piece ‘Illumination’’ Simos crafts a proper slice of astral techno. Tough beats, electric rhythms and raspy stabs begin the nine minute journey. Senses heighten as elastic designs and cosmic effects unite across a devilish first act. Percussive flurries and metallic melodies further advance the narrative, flowing effortlessly into a dramatic break. Sinister in tone, the interlude saturates your senses with a cascading lead theme, opening up with each successive loop, before reaching an exhilarating crescendo. The companion piece ‘Kabul’ follows a similar sonic ethos, making it a perfect complement to its predecessor. Sitting at the heart of the piece is a tightly wound groove and distinctive percussive narrative. Ominous and intriguing, it’s arcane nature is inviting as growling swells, astral arps and subtle vocal fragments make for an incredibly heady journey. The storyboard becomes fully realized in the main break, melting down to a cosmic collage, before waves of beats and percussion spark a powerful third act.

The lone interpretation of ‘Illumination’ is provided by James Trystan who makes his label debut. The UK artist continues to be one of the melodic techno scenes most steadfast producers, having racked up an impressive string of discography credits, most notably for Bedrock, Eleatics, Steyoyoke and Suara. Now making his first appearance on Movement Recordings, James provides a powerful rendition of ‘Illumination’. Always a creative remixer, James reinvents the main elements into something decidedly more poignant, sitting as an ideal complement to the original. Atop a muscular groove, comes buzzing synths and hypnotic arps. It’s unique contrast of grit and shimmer results in a remarkable sonic marriage, one which makes for a hugely energetic yet quite tasteful journey, elegantly peaking through a dramatic break, before a buzzing final act puts a cap on this cosmic gem. A stunning remix from James which rounds out a hugely successful return to Movement Recordings for Simos Tagias."
