Releasing their "Hagel" EP in May 2018, LADS created another magical milestone on Proton Music with a twin-track offering of the highest order. Now we return to the EP with a pair of new remixes from Dutch and UK artists.

Dutch duo, Huminal, have been a real tour de force since their introduction to the underground dance scene, courtesy of the "Prophecies" EP on FutureForm Music in early 2014. Long-time friend, Paul Deetman and Jelle Jansen had already been regulars across the clubs of their Amsterdam home with captivating sets for local promoters, Pleinvrees and NGHTDVSN. Moreover, their distinctive production sound has seen a raft of production material for the likes of Einmusika, Zerothree and Movement Recordings. Regulars on Particles and Proton Music with a combined quartet of original EPs, "Knocking on the Sky" and "We Dwell in the Past" have been notable highlights in the Proton catalogue with October 2018's "Macropsia" another jewel in their sizeable crown. 

Following on from a trio of remixes, the Huminal remix is redolent in duo's trademark rasping analogue bass sound. Built around an intelligent percussive groove that evolves enticingly, a bouncing bassline emerges in off-beat pattern that hints at the complexity to follow. Simultaneously, the motifs from the LADS original are heard, combined with Huminal's own stunning production material that reaches a glorious zenith at the breakdown before extending into the third movement. The result is a stunning achievement.

An artist who burst onto the underground dance scene in late 2016, Imran Khan has been a regular on Clinique Recordings with his "Distance Between Us" and "Time" EPs. Going on to find his music featured on the likes of Stellar Fountain, Astrowave and BQ Recordings, Khan's work for Particles saw the "Arrival" EP released in August 2018 following success of the title track on the "Winter Particles 2018" compilation. A pair of original tracks alongside remixes from Kamilo Sanclemente and Dabeat and Hot TuneiK showcased Khan's music.

Now debuting on Proton Music, the Imran Khan remix is a deep and sultry offering that revels in stripped back percussive cadence. A metronomic bass note finds its place in the creation of tight groove while melodic elements from the LADS original filter into aural range. Building cleverly throughout, a chorus of strings and sustained pads supply depth before a shimmering arpeggio opens up, taking its place in the post-breakdown sonic collage with glorious simplicity.

Motek Music has been a treasured Proton pillar since 2014. Specializing in “techno, deep house and everything in between,” the London based imprint regularly headlines stars like Jay Tripwire, Third Son, Jonas Saalbach and more. For release #45, Barbuto returns for the first time since the label's second ever release. Rather than longtime collaborator Daelo, he’s now joined by fellow Sydney native Made in Paris. Beginning the EP on an intensely bouncy note, “Rivers of India” employs a multitude of raw techno elements. As such, the original mix's burly bass line is a perfect match for the incomparable Marc DePulse. Anchored by his fat vibe, the Leipzig producer’s Motek debut is a spacious fracturing of time and space!

Our headline artist Erdi Irmak who has cooperated with us since first Soundteller release comes back to us after a short break and having released his music on The Soundgarden, made a lovely groovy deep prog track. Its melody gives the track a wonderful vibe. The second remix is made by Julian Nates whose last production for Soundteller, 'Sonar' Remix, was a huge success. This time he presents you a driving prog tech track that will surely steal your hearts. A massive EP, check it out!

@progressiveastronaut Review:  Jelly For The Babies newly launched RYNTH imprint closes out 2018 by welcoming Dio S to the label for his debut EP. Fresh off an excellent release for Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint, the Greek artist has also found a home on Lee Burridge’s Get Weird and Sol Selectas. Following an auspicious beginning in November, RYNTH now further establishes itself as one of the most exciting new deep imprints with a fresh EP from Dio S.

Comprised of three selections it’s the title cut ‘One More Drama’ which gets the proceedings under way. Tight and punchy yet smooth and laid back it’s a piece that carries both hopeful and melancholic qualities. Clanky drums and luminous pads immediately grab your attention as wistful motifs collect around the framework. Coming to full fruition during the second of two breaks, it’s a strummy motif which completes the musical theme, perfectly segueing into a classy finale.

For our 37th Chapter, we warmly welcome Italian artist Andy Bros to the label with the ‘Cuore’ EP.

The package sees the Diynamic regular present his fresh and innovative sound on an EP that bridges the tech and deep dance realms with the worlds of jazz, funk and soul.

Title track ‘Cuore’ is a showstopper. Full of drive, tenderness and ultimately optimism, the piece tells a very personal story for the artist and affirms the power of keeping an open heart.

Next, ‘Rocky’ offers something darker and deeper - an ode to a hero from the artist’s youth. Huge, dramatic synth riffs are the order of the day, full of panache and flair.

Meanwhile, closer ‘Sunny Day’ is another stellar number, richly laden with choppy piano riffs on a bouncy tech groove. Once more, there remains a sense of positivity that all will be well in the end.

With three powerful original cuts, Andy Bros proves again that he is an eclectic and rounded artist with a tale to tell. Not afraid of experimenting and pushing things forward, he is a perfect fit for Chapter 24.
