The latest release from Ziger’s Eat My Hat imprint welcomes Basil O’Glue to the label for his debut single ‘Sycophants’. The Greek artist and Saturate Audio label boss is much loved for his progressive minded creations which have found a home on Armada Music, Coldharbour Recordings and John OO Fleming’s JOOF Recordings. Now the long time Markus Schulz favourite makes his Eat My Hat debut alongside a remix from Ziger.
Known for bridging the gap between progressive house and trance, Basil does so once again on ‘Sycophants’. It’s robust groove ripples with wonderous undulation while fiery percussion and trippy vocal fragments fill in the framework. Intense and vivid, an array of fierce effects and fuzzy arps ultimately rule the narrative, running through a cavernous break before segueing into a finale of creaking artefacts and haunting overlays. 
Rounding out this all Greek release is label boss Ziger who provides the lone interpretation of ‘Sycophants’. A collaboration with Beatfreak boss D-Formation along with remixes for Juan Deminicis and DJ AroZe have made for a sensational first half of 2020. Now continuing that momentum Ziger delivers a cosmic take on ‘Sycophants’. Taking a cue from the original, the Greek artist reworks the groove for a contemporary feel as vocal fragments, clap clusters and trailing effects create a dark narrative. Astral overlays further the narrative as the first act reaches a fiery peak, before a dramatic break shifts energy into a percussive drop and exhilarating finale. A powerful remix from Ziger which caps off another must have release from his Eat My Hat imprint.

About the release
A new 2 track EP finds Clay Smith creating another sparkling musical voyage for the 78th release on @darinepsilon’s label Perspectives Digital. 
The eastern vocal phrasing in "Boom Shiva" immediately transports the listener into distant cultures and the Indian subcontinent. Quickly hitting its stride with a relentless rhythmic intent, organic instrumentation and smooth flowing melodies juxtapose against the driving beat and intricate tabla percussion. Evolving with subtle waxing and waning of the key elements, Smith has captured the essence of traditional music practices, cleverly merging them with modern electronic techniques. The result is a highly original and impressive track.

Italian based man of melodies, Richard Bass, makes his way back to our Progressive House Worldwide label and anyone that has been following the melodic progressive scene over the years should know that you are in for a sun drenched progressive journey. From start to finish, well selected melodies, smooth pluks and everything in between is there for you and we can’t say less than that the Richard Bass moniker is back stronger than ever. 

To spice things up, 2 remarkable artists, well known for their loving skills of writing progressive music, make their way back. First is a producer that really doesn't need an introduction as he’s been hammering some fantastic music out over the past decade. We are of course as thrilled as ever to see UK based Alex H making his way back to the label. With a fresh and more “synthwave” styled interpretation of the original idea, he once more proves another way of doing things. We absolutely love the fresh outcome of his remake. 

After a while away from the progressive scene, doing other things in life, we of course are over the moon to see a fresh return from a producer we always held high. Hailing from Japan and with an incredible talent in writing melodic hooks, we welcome back none other than Ryo Nakamura to the label and the scene. For those of you being with for a while knows all about his music and what a fantastic artist he is. This is special one from him again through warm moods, high flying melodic arrangements and that etching catchy vibe.

Richard Bass - Around You (Ryo Nakamura Remix)

'Higher States enters the summer season by welcoming Navar to the label for his debut EP. Through releasing material on Guy J’s Lost & Found Records, the Dutch artist emerged in 2014, firmly establishing himself in the world of deep melodic house. Subsequent releases for Cid Inc’s Replug Records, Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Belgian Events brand EDGE, further solidified Navar’s place amongst the genre’s elite.  Now following a remix of Eric Lune’s ‘Benji’ to begin the year, Navar presents his first original project of 2020 via Roger Martinez’s Higher States.

Spread across four tracks, Navar explores a broad spectrum of organic sensibilities on ‘High Noon’, beginning with the free-flowing tranquillity of ‘Moon At The Window’. A bed of broken beats and exotic drums sets the stage for hypno grooves and pixie-like melodies. Transcendent and glowing in equal measure, it’s fuzzed out stabs, incandescent harmonies and unpredictability showcases an artist operating at his creative peak. ‘Desert Storm’ follows suit with a similarly charming quality. Subtle shades and fragmented tones coverage as the narrative evolves, creating a contemplative yet emotive drawl which is sure to resonate on multiple levels. 

Beginning the EP’s second wave are the dulcet beats of ‘Arctic Vibez’. Spacious and smooth, it’s a piece built around warm bass tones and luminous cascades. Spiralling overlays strike at opportune moments, blanketing the robust framework onwards to a meditative finale. Rounding out the release is the title selection ‘High Noon’ which finds Navar flexing the peak time prowess of his studio repertoire. Sitting comfortably between the playful and emotive, it’s dusty percussion and bouncy arps bring texture and drive to a brilliant rhythmic theme. Tranquil tones and smooth chord changes marry for an elegant apex, ultimately putting a stamp on this sensational release. Sure to be an important piece in Navar’s discography, it’s a collection of music which further solidifies his place amongst the progressive house elite, while continuing to forge new sonic blueprints for the future.'
