Different Ray - Abbie's Dream (Original Mix)

Clubsonica Records continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Paul Angelo and Don Argento back to the label for their first EP. Hailing from Cyprus, the much-loved duo first appeared on the Colombian imprint in 2019 with a remix of Armandhe's 'While The Wolf's Away'. June of 2020 then saw Paul and Don return with a chart-topping rendition of Etherwave's 'Pathfinder', before rounding the year out with well received releases via Movement Recordings, Timeless Moment and UV. Now getting 2020 underway in style, Paul and Don return to Clubsonica for their first original project entitled 'Astraeus'.

Getting the release underway and sitting as one of the duo's most infectious tracks to date is the title selection 'Astraeus'. Punchy beats and a tough, muscular groove set the foundation for a storyboard of fragmented arps, symphonic overlays and piercing stabs. Pushing a dramatic narrative, icy swells and percolating effects drift across the main break, gently teasing the senses before giving way to an energetic roll and groovy drop.

Renowned for their dark yet energetic sounds, Paul and Don diversify their portfolio further with the playful 'Dioptra'. Smooth and buoyant from the outset, the creation delights with its crunchy rhythms, placid pads and striking stabs. The narrative evolves with a spirited lead line adding bounce and drive as the main break approaches. Undeniably emotive, the centrepiece allows the joyous theme to breathe atop a foundation of sizzling effects and rolling drums, eventually reaching a classy crescendo as the beats drop for an exhilarating finale.

Putting on a stamp on the three-track showcase are the rippling grooves and astral arps of 'Hypnosis'. Aptly titled, the eight-minute journey brings you into a world of perfectly intertwined hypnotic themes. Positive and heady in equal measure, it's a collage of meditative arps, hopeful synth swells and otherworldly effects which captivate across the first movement. Melodic clusters expand the musical narrative during a timely break, gently washing over a cavernous underbelly, heightening the senses and ultimately closing the release out on a charming note. For a progressive music duo who already find themselves in the genre's upper tier, the 'Astraeus' collection not only further cements their place but expands their repertoire with three fascinating productions.

Particles gets back to work following a short holiday break! For its next release, the label, once again, features Lucas Degiorgi. His original debut, “Journey,” consists of six new tracks. Bringing up the rear, Stranger Tourists hatch another placid remix. Their take on “Charger” gives off a distinctively melancholic vibe. Rich in ambiance, it also makes use of divine plucks, vox and flutes.

The first release of 2021 sees Replug Label Managers Cid Inc. & Orsen join forces once again to release a three track EP of previously unreleased music, entitled 'Unreleased'.

After the success of their chart topping '10' collaboration, which celebrated the label's 10 year anniversary, Cid Inc. & Orsen delved into the hard drives to pull out their most sought after, unreleased tracks from the last 2 years, which had been heard and ID'd in DJ sets around the globe.

Cid Inc. starts the EP with the earth moving, acid fueled 'Ground Control'. A 303 ladened juggernaut which evolves and accumulates energy and anticipation over a meticulously produced 9 minute journey. The summit of the track is reached after a nearly 2 minute long break which twists and turns as the distorted filters and envelopes work their magic, reaching their crescendo with a thunderous re-entry which drives the track back to its core fi nale.

The second track is the long awaited follow up collaboration from Cid Inc. & Orsen entitled "A Blessing in Disguise". Leading on from 'Ground Control' it sets the mood once again, with a driving yet more subtle build, a metronomic presence and pulsating rhythmic stabs lead us to the evolution of a held back but anthemic edged melodic breakdown. Both elegant and designed in nature, it has all the hallmarks of what to expect from Cid Inc, Orsen and Replug.

Finally is the previously unreleased 'Continuum' from Orsen. With flavours of tracks of old, it is a no nonsense peak-timer, which grows in presence as the track opens up with repeating cyclical 'hoover' stabs and arpeggiators, leading to an 'old skool' infused, single melodic line just before the track heaves back in to run to its energy ladened conclusion.

Another sublime outing from both Cid Inc. & Orsen to start the year and surely to be another standout Replug release.

Just Movement first partnered with Movement Recordings in early 2014. Seven years later, the former imprint welcomes back Govinda (Arg)! His latest single, “Novena,” radiates much-need optimism in the shape of “hopeful atmospheres and buoyant rhythms.” Born into a family of music lovers, RIGOONI also makes his respective label debut. The Brazilian already earned Guy J’s support for the new track. Its fixed yet organic framework adds another layer of depth to the release.
