July 2022 saw Juan Deminicis make another impressive entrance into the Proton Music annals, this time with his twin track "Cycles". Now Particles returns to the EP with remixes from Second Sine and Wolfframm.

A Particles debutant with over a century of credits to his name, Andrey Sinitsyn has made an impressive name for himself with his Second Sine moniker and an "energetic dark palette linked with his love for chunkier techy vibes". An accomplished DJ with releases for the likes of YOMO Records, Mistique Music and a pair of appearances on Black Hole Recordings, the Russian artist's remix of "Cycles" emerges from an intricate percussive groove and deep kick. An atmospheric swathe of pads and deeply textured elements pulsate enticingly across the stereo spectrum, before delicate new synth motifs and the elegant piano from Juan's original emerge in a beautifully tender breakdown. A growling new bassline adds further depth and emotion as the Second Sine interpretation drives forward to an impressive and satisfying conclusion.

A seasoned performer with over two decades experience in the underground dance music industry, Paul Richter originally carved out a sizeable niche with his work in the drum and bass genre. Moving into the more melodic and considered sounds of electronica and progressive house with his Wolfframm soubriquet, the Canberra-based artist has found himself a regular across the Australian, Late Night Music imprint throughout 2022. A debut on Particles in December saw Wolfframm remixing OHMZ's "Articulation" as he now returns to the label with a mesmerising new interpretation of "Samhadi". Hypnotic melodies evolve in hypnotic fashion as pulsing arpeggiated phrases and twinkling synth motifs shimmer across the near 9-minute offering. Cleverly weaving the emotive piano sequences from the original into the breakdown, a sustained new bassline sequence and intelligent treatment of Juan's vocal effects creates a powerful third movement that takes "Samhadi" in a new and vibrant direction. Built upon a powerful kick and rolling top line, the Wolfframm remix showcases talent and craftsmanship in abundance.

Beat & Path have spent two years nurturing talent, throwing their weight behind albums from Sanoi and The Oddness and tracking Uone and Western's treks into gold-rush territory. But it's been 28 months since their last VA release, and Camp Out 001 provides the variety that was set up in 2020's Winter Sampler.

There's an eclectic range of tempos and romp factor here; this compilation being as much about dancing under trees as lying in a fireside cuddle puddle while someone plays amateur astronomer.

This first Camp Out edition ends on a high, with Uone joining his most consistent collaborator Western for some pure dancefloor dynamism. Percussion-heavy, undisguisedly synthetic, and insistent; like all beautiful things, 'Lords of Light' doesn't care tuppence for how it's perceived.

In mid-2022, GMJ delivered another 24-carat release in the shape of his "Empty to Fill" musical triptych. Returning to the EP, a pair of new remixes provide a fresh perspective from an Australian legend and rising Russian star.

Jamie Stevens has been a regular contributor to the Meanwhile catalogue. An award-winning ARIA artist with a slew of releases on Bedrock, Lost & Found and Selador amongst others, 400 production credits tell their own story of the Melbourne resident's success. June 2022's "Circles" EP showcased Stevens' talent on Meanwhile with three inimitable original tracks, while a single remix of Roger Martinez's "Cosmic Drum" in late-2020 is now followed by a sparkling interpretation of "Empty to Fill". Replete with bouncing bass groove and body-shaking percussion, the vocal sample that featured in the original makes an intermittent return with sinister, pitched down voicing. Evolving easily, familiar melodic elements make their play alongside a wealth of new production material that reveals itself further towards the mid-point breakdown. Full of dancefloor sensibility, the track explodes into life in the second half in a hypnotising and mesmerising collage of rhythmic prowess.

Another familiar artist to the Meanwhile faithful, Konstantin Kuranakov has carved out a sizeable reputation with his Jiminy Hop pseudonym. Already finding success with releases on the likes of Plaisirs Sonores Records, Juicebox Music and WARPP, March 2022's "Johlin" and September's "Levera / Agmoli" perfectly illustrated the Russian star's production credentials with five immaculately sculpted original pieces of music. Now returning with a debut remix on GMJ & Matter's imprint, the Jiminy Hop interpretation is a masterful, up-tempo reworking of "Stage Flight" that rises and falls with poise and grace. Delicate new melodies soar on the sonic breeze as they cascade gently across the landscape in arpeggiated patterns. Counterpoint melodies entwine through each other in interwoven patterns with a dense atmosphere in plentiful supply through shimmering delays and reverb tails. A copious blend of white-noise risers and crashing waves add a pulsating touch as the Jiminy Hop remix ignites with its club-friendly denouement in the second half.

Juicebox Music's proud to welcome Blanka Barbara into the fold with her debut 2-track EP featuring "Celestial Trail" & "Betrayer Moon". London (UK) based, Polish DJ, Live Act, Producer & 'Rabbit Records' label owner, Blanka brings her experience from being a professionally trained classical pianist & composer into the world of electronic music. With her first release in early 2020 & being relatively new under this guise, her body of work till date speaks volumes on Blanka's quality over quantity ethos. Apart from putting out music under her own imprint 'Rabbit Records', she's worked with a number of fantastic labels, highlighted by her releases on Mango's 'Mango Alley', John 00 Fleming's 'J00F Aura' & Lane 8's 'This Never Happened'. For her latest EP with us, she's dug deeper to bring out the more hypnotic & darker side of herself while retaining big anthemic moments.

Making his much-awaited return to the imprint is Goa (India) based Funksun, who made his global debut on our imprint with "Vayu" as part of our first edition of Fables. With his forward-thinking production techniques and club effective arrangements, Funksun's clearly made a mark, earning his support from Hernan Cattaneo, Dmitry Molosh and Hicky & Kalo to name a few from get-go. This time, Funksun takes on remix-duties as he turns Blanka Barbara's "Celestial Trail" into a chugging monster with a lesson in restraint, making this a perfect weapon to use at any point during the night.

Welcoming another core-artist of our roster back to the imprint is the one and only - Forty Cats. The Russian artist's discography boasts of highly-respected associations, namely Lane 8's 'This Never Happened', Hernan Cattaneo's 'Sudbeat' and the LA-based powerhouse 'Monstercat', to name a few. Initially making her debut on our imprint in late 2021 with a 2-track collaborative EP featuring "Lagom" and "Symbols" with fellow country-men - Meeting Molly and Mango, Forty Cats continued her relationship with a follow-up single titled "Moscow Time" & more recently a collaborative EP with Dowden featuring "Orbit" & "Airtime". Her fourth appearance now comes in as her first remix for Juicebox Music, re-interpreting Blanka Barbara's "Betrayer Moon" into one of her signature styles - deeper, groovy & hypnotic.

A rising force within the underground dance scene, Michael Ritter continues to hone a distinctive sound with elegant craftsmanship and technical expertise. Returning to Sam Packer's Pillbox, Michael now delivers his "Boundaries / El Camino" EP.

Part of the vibrant electronic scene in his native Germany, Michael Ritter is a regular performer across the Berlin capital through his Grey Bar Hotel label and events. A passionate advocate of an eclectic mix of Progressive, Afro and Melodic House with a dash of Organica thrown in for good measure, Michael's sets captivate far beyond the boundaries of his home country, evidenced by an upcoming Mexico tour in early 2023 with performances in Juarez and Mexico City. A contemporaneous production career has seen releases on an array of blue-chip imprints since a 2019 debut for Price Incorrect, with over a century of production credits sitting proudly against the Michael Ritter name. Original and remix production material can be found on Lowbit, Particles and YOMO Records as well as a raft of releases on his Grey Bar Hotel label.

Debuting on Pillbox with a standout reworking of Chris Zippel & Ghenwa Nemnom's "To Follow" in October 2022, Michael now returns to the label with his first full original EP, already gaining traction from industry heavyweights Marco Tegui, Be Svendsen and Iorie, among others. Opener, "Boundaries" lilts easily across its 6-minute timeframe as an Afro House-infused percussion provides the perfect foundation for a luscious arpeggio to enter the fray alongside a rolling groove. A hefty bass sequence adds weight while a sultry vocal sample stretches invitingly throughout. Building through an atmospheric breakdown of sonic colour and organic instrumentation, the track drops back into the delightfully imagined combination of rhythm and melody.

Partner track, "El Camino" continues the laid-back rhythmic cadence of the opener which a beautiful display of melodic emotion and elegance. Anchored by a powerful kick and sumptuous bassline dynamism, a swathe of piano motifs, horn phrases, and sitar-inspired instrumentation, combine in a majestic fashion to create a mesmerizing aural landscape that evolves unencumbered across a wondrous 5-minutes. Dripping in atmosphere and emotion, Michael's skill is to evoke an image of a sweltering Spanish summer afternoon through his masterful production.

Hitting the heights once more, Michael Ritter explores new horizons across "Boundaries / El Camino".
