Millions of listeners all over the world enjoy the mesmerising music of the Persian artist Bahramji, who calls Ibiza home.
Long before Berlin based producer Chris Zippel moved to the island and became friends with the musician, Bahram's Chill Out Albums “Sufi Safir” and “Sufiyan” in collaboration with the artist Mashti had a huge impact on him. 
Their co-creation on the track SANDS features Bahrams unique way of singing and playing his trademark 72-string instrument, the Santur;

Combined with the productions skills of veteran producer Chris the track comes in a tempo of 113 Bpm in different mixes and dub versions.

An artist with an impressive recent history, Chicago born, Greece based, Savvas, returns to Proton Music with the brand new "Crescent Moon" EP. Making his label debut with a trio of remixes between 2019 and 2021, a debut original EP followed in February 2022 via "Reminisce" as three original tracks plus remixes from RIGOONI and Vridian showcased an exceptional offering. With another triptych to his name, the "Crescent Moon" title track is a beautifully evocative piece that evolves majestically over its 9-minute duration. Hypnotic keys and counterpoint melodies fire off each other as strings, pads and effects take their turn vying for listener attention in the resulting rich opener. "Wonder' quickly creates a melancholy vibe with its delicate piano sequences that extend in organic fashion across a rock-steady kick and shuffling percussion. Beautifully imagined vocal phrasing adds to the air of sadness and delicacy as a smooth arpeggio provides another graceful tone in the latter stages along with strings and sympathetic melody. Sparkling arpeggiated sequences immediately highlight an upbeat air in "Lullaby" before they drift away at the mid-point allowing for strong rhythmic elements to come to the fore. A further combination of meticulously engineered elements sees a second half suffused with poise and lightness of touch.

Juan Deminicis has been a staple of the Proton Music catalogue for more than a decade. Since a 2012 debut, the Argentinean has released five original EPs that have seen such stellar offerings as "Behind the Sun", "Life on the Moon" and July 2022's "Cycles". Remixes for GMJ, Mark Slee and Michael A have seen equally impressive production work as Juan Deminicis now returns with a typically assured reworking of "Crescent Moon". Through a trademark rolling groove and intricate rhythmic framework, the central motif of Savvas' original is reworked in mesmerising fashion as a cast of new production material join forces, not least in a piercing new melodic phrase and whispering vocal cut that make a play in the second half. Organic house elements flow through the 7-minute interpretation with flute and traditional instruments combining as Juan Deminicis once again demonstrates why his production work is so sought after.

Another Proton Music regular with such celebrated releases as "Divine", "Losing Part of Me" and "Asante", Andrea Cassino has been at the forefront of the progressive house scene for almost 15 years. Remixes for Kamilo Sanclemente & Dabeat, Rudy, Michael A and GMJ have also been notable highlights in the Italian-born producer's star-studded portfolio, as he now returns to remix Savvas. Characterised by an effortless bouncing bass groove and immaculately syncopated percussion, the Andrea Cassino interpretation of "Wonder" retains some of the core melodic themes while turning it into a rolling, club-friendly gem. Sweeping string passages and the haunting vocal prevalent in the original make their presence heard, particularly at the atmospheric and evocative breakdown before the mesmerising groove takes hold once more.

Opening the Spring season, Ziger’s Eat My Hat Music welcomes Axel Giova to the label for his debut single. Hailing from Argentina, Axel Giova first emerged in 2020 with a release via Omnia Rec. On the strength of remixes from Kamilo Sanclemente, the EP found a near perfect balance between organic, melodic and progressive house. The next two calendar years would see further successes for Axel, landing standout releases for Freegrant Music and Magnitude Recordings. Now, following an appearance on Steyoyoke’s ‘Perception’ collection to begin the year, Axel makes his Eat My Hat debut with ‘Crescendo’, alongside remixes from Ziger and Kamilo Sanclemente.

Getting the release underway with the original mix, Axel marries warm key-changing grooves with buoyant rhythms and inviting electronics. Sleek and energetic, an enticing array of arps elevates mood across the first act, as shimmering effects and clattering percussive arrangements provide a bridge into the main break. Balmy atmospheres and effervescent chord stabs rise across the interlude, creating moments of anticipation and emotion, as an eventual zenith is reached with hazy harmonics and a tasteful drum flurry spearheading an uplifting finale.

The first interpretation of ‘Crescendo’ is provided by Eat My Hat label boss Ziger. The much-loved Greek artist comes off a successful 2022 which included a collection of memorable projects. Whether being paired with occasional studio partner Mind Conspiracy or operating in solo capacity, Ziger has added nicely to his resume across the year. A string of successful releases for Eat My Hat proved to be the highlight, with ICONYC and SLC-6 Music also playing host to his cutting-edge sounds. Now, presenting his first new music of 2023, Ziger dials in an excellent rendition of ‘Crescendo’. Drawing inspiration from the original, Ziger layers misty atmospheres and arcane electronics atop punchy beats and rippling grooves. Mysterious and thought-provoking throughout, it’s a heady amalgamation of sound which makes for an energetic yet atmospheric journey, elegantly melting down to deconstructed vocals and ethereal phrasing across a one-minute interlude, before a mystical final act puts a cap on this otherworldly gem.

The release concludes with Kamilo Sanclemente making his label debut with the second and final interpretation of ‘Crescendo’. As one of progressive music's most beloved names, the Cali resident has a litany of successes over the last decade. Prolific and consistent in equal measure, Kamilo has earned the praise of genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while showcasing his music via Anjunadeep, The Soundgarden, Replug and more. Now, fresh off a contribution to All Day I Dream's 'Winter Sampler', Kamilo makes his Eat My Hat debut with a gorgeous take on ‘Crescendo’. Built around a deep thumping framework, Kamilo focuses on rhythm and groove across the first act, nicely balanced with a healthy dose of arpeggiated sequences with colourful effects. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, the main break unveils a gorgeous primary theme, delicately dancing across poignant vocal phrasing and filtered arps, as modulation peaks for a groovy finale. A gorgeous conclusion to an excellent Eat My Hat debut for Axel Giova, an artist who looks to have a breakout year as 2023 unfolds.

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint rounds out the month of March by showcasing new interpretations of 'Forest Beast' by Christina Gavrilova aka Forty Cats. The Moscow resident has enjoyed a rapid ascent in the landscape of progressive music, having forged a distinctive sonic identity, resulting in a string of uniquely crafted records that present a resonant worldly sound. Landing in July of 2022, 'Forest Beast' found the beloved Russian artist crafting one of her deepest and most engaging tracks to date. On the strength of remixes from Berni Turletti and Weird Sounding Dude, the release earned play and support from Armen Miran, Eelke Kleijn, Mind Against, Nick Warren, Quivver and more. With two of the versions still holding a place in Christina's Beatport best sellers, Sound Avenue now invites Paul Deep, Ric Niels and Nau Squaglia to re-imagine the track for 2023's impending spring season.
