Mahakali (Sanskrit: Mahākālī, Devanagari: महाकाली), is the much revered Hindu mother goddess of time, death and doomsday. 
She is the divine Goddess of the Universe in her most fearful and powerful form. She is also the consort of Mahakala, the god of consciousness, the basis of reality and existence. Mahakali in Sanskrit is etymologically the feminized variant of Mahakala or Great Time (which is interpreted also as Death), an epithet of the god Shiva in Hinduism. Kali and all her forms are the different manifestations of Mahakali.   
Mahakali's origin is contained in various Puranic and Tantric Hindu Scriptures (Shastra). In these She is variously portrayed as the Adi-Shakti-Goddess Durga, the Primeval Force of the Universe, identical with the Ultimate Reality or Brahman. She is also known as the (female) Prakriti or World as opposed to the (male) Purusha or Consciousness, or as one of three manifestations of Mahadevi Durga (The Great Goddess) that represent the three Gunas or attributes in Samkhya philosophy. In this interpretation Mahakali represents Tamas or the force of inertia. 
She is described as an abstract energy, the yoganidra of Vishnu. Brahma invokes Her and She emerges from Vishnu and He awakenes. 
She is the Goddess of time.

It's finally summer - the birds are chirping, the sun is shining. And we are very happy to present you a new Traumcast today. This time the 3 guys from @kalahamoon gives us the very special honor and have conjured up a beautiful LIVE set. Enjoy listening :)

1) How did you fare during the pandemic? what have you learned in this special time?

Before all of that happened we were preparing for an exciting summer tour. A moment of settlement wasn’t really a thing until then, so the pandemic hit us on the brakes and gave us time to take some more responsibility as individuals. 

Being an artist in the times where all the events stopped, was definitely very challenging. But it also taught us to be open to new ways and to not always sticking to the same old patterns. That's why it's important to be aware of the situations we face and live life to the fullest, in any given moment. A big part of the whole process was the hunt for creativity, that forced us to look more in our inner selves. 

After our plans got canceled we decided to produce our latest EP Nangijala, a piece of work which gave us motivation again. The extra freetime gave us the patience to work with a lot of intention in the music, both with publishing it and making a vinyl pressing. 

Anxiety and hopelessness was definitely related to recent times, both in our personal life and in the world around us. Coming closer together around these topics helped us to get to know each other even better than before. We realised that there was more to the project than just the music and that we had to be together, with more depth than just on a professional level.

2) Do you sometimes argue about different styles you want to make in your tracks? how do you deal with conflicts?

Instead of thinking in styles and genres, we have all together found a way to combine our tastes. Because we have been trustful in the intuition of each other and in the freedom to express ourselves. Our music comes from jamming and playing with different instruments, so the process comes quite naturally. 

When you get a funky guitar riff on a trancy bassline with some ancient vocals on top, you feel like traveling through unexplored worlds. Finally the fusion with electronic colours make it so much more diversified, that surprises wait at every next moment. 

But sometimes we do experience conflicts surrounding goals, commitments and communication. We are all deeply into the project, but at the same time we have certain differences about aspects of the band. This is often being discussed, so we listen to each other and meet in the middle of our opinions. It's all about compromise and consideration, when you want to create projects together. This leads us to deal easily with fights and have acceptance towards each other as colleagues and friends.


3) Is there a biggest wish for the future that you want to realize as a trio?

You know, music is a medicine that helps the mind to heal and overcome the daily bumps of the road. This is a factor that we as creators of the music and our listeners have in common. Therefore our wishes are to keep creating alternatives which balances out the toxic modern ways of living. To be a part of a movement, which is transparent towards gender, status and geographical placement. Music brings hope and freedom, which is a big motivation to spread this powerful energy in the world and connect people with each other. 

We are dreaming about going out on a bigger tour outside of Europe. And even if we get plenty of creativity in our studio in Berlin, we would like to travel the world together to connect and learn about different cultures of society. This would help us get inspired and evolve, both as a band and as human beings.

Ali Kuru puts a fantastic Turkish hypno-funk twist to his interpretation, and makes it a crazy psych-disco banger, while Richard Rossa is taking a slow, hypnotic dub-minimal approach. 
Nasiri, a traditional Sufi musician ads his fantastic sets of live-instruments, like the Oud and Flute, to the original sounds and evolves the track in into a organic, epic and magic journey. 
Mexian born SÒN also spice things up with an organic and pumping tech-vibe. All this makes for an absolutely BOMB release. About time to get this in orbit! <3 <3
