Hard For Picard Episode One

Introducing a brand new podcast called ThROH the Years. Hobbes and Matt will chronologically review the Ring of Honor events from the beginning of the promotion. In this, the first episode, we review “The Era of Honor Begins” from February 23, 2002. The event (as well as the podcasts) features some highs and lows, from one of the most offensive opening segments in wrestling history, to one of the best first main events in wrestling history, this show is memorable. Your hosts go into the background of the company, and talk about the progressive and regressive aspects of the company at the time. It’s a fascinating look at how far ROH (and wrestling in general) have come since 2002, and it also features a completely unnecessary jab at Joe Gagne, so check it out!

ThROH The Years Episode 1 - The Era of Honor Begins

Pete, Kelly and Johnny are back in action with this all-new podcast devoted to a chronological look at WCCW's World Class TV show, as found on the WWE Network. First up is January 2, 1982. There is a different host and different theme music. "Big Daddy" Bundy is wearing jeans and a rope belt, and Kevin Von Erich is wearing wrestling boots. Yes, this isn't the World Class everyone knows and loves quite yet!

Tonight's big main event is Kerry Von Erich vs. The Great Kabuki, and in addition to that Pete, Kelly and Johnny talk about Fritz, Bill Irwin, Armand Hussian, Jose Lothario, Killer Tim Brooks and Captain Frank Dusek. February 6, 1982

People complain about the Mae Young Classic having bad commentary. Please. It's nothing compared to the nightmare team of Gene Goodson and Armand Hussian from this episode. This is BAD commentary, folks. Pete, Johnny, and Kelly try to ignore it long enough to analyze the action, which features Richard Blood (not one of the great Richard Blood's, but he's alright), Jose Lothario, Big Daddy Bundy, Bugsy McGraw vs. Al Madril in an American title match, Larry Higgins (?), Tony Torrez (???) and El Negro Assassin (?!?!?!?). Sit back and enjoy another waltz across Texas with the boys!

World Cast #3

June 26, 1982 (WCCW 27)

We at World Cast pledge never, NEVER to miss a Wednesday...even if the recording date is screwed up and we have no choice but to release an episode slotted for early January as a fill in.  AND THAT TIME IS NOW! 

Hopefully this isn't too confusing, as the boys jump ahead a few weeks to witness a pretty bland episode of World Class. But we have new commentators! (the backup tight end for the Cowboys?!?!) We have vignettes! (done poorly) We have extremely hairy wrestlers! (Well, just one) And through it all,  we have Good Ol' Al to save us with another ** mindbender

Catch us next week for our regularly scheduled episode looking at Star Wars: The Super Bowl of Wrestling!!!!! (Let everyone else go nuts over The Last Jedi)

Santa Claus is real folks, and this morning he just dropped a special World Cast episode for all the good boys and girls out there! 
Pete, Kelly and Johnny couldn’t get enough of the, shall we say, lesser elements of 1982 WCCW, so they decided to dip into 1981 and really wallow in the muck. Marvel at a not so exciting brass knuckles title match, a not so light challenger for the light heavyweight title, a not so easy to follow two ring 6-man tag team match, a not so impressive Texas Death match, and, yet again, a not so great battle royal. But the boys have the Christmas spirit and, like they always do, make watching a crummy show a whole lot of fun.

ThROH The Years mourns (we mean celebrates) the death of a streak that has lasted all 26 previous episodes, but soldiers on with a review of Tradition Continues, the most misleading title in history! Matt and Trevor disagree more than they have in quite some time, but they come together over love for AJ Styles vs. CM Punk, Samoa Joe vs. Jay Briscoe, and Lipton's Chicken Noodle Soup. Is this show kind of disappointing or a template for good B-market shows? We discuss, you decide!
