Those packing a bag and stick for an outing would do well to be abreast of CB’s new release, a string of tracks that truly hark to times when we were more blissfully and chemically disengaged from the world. The EP’s title track, Cruise Control, puts its cards on the table right away, with a driving Italo new age laden bassline with a lot of horsepower and coasting pads that paint long exposure traffic lights in your mind.

Though it puts its cards down early, it doesn’t quite ever reveal its hand. Subtle shifts in key and tempo from the trilling synths in the track's foreground keep the ride a freewheeling drift, the longer you ride the more ecstatic it all comes - before you know it the vocals call brrrrryeeeaaah! and you get a triple clap. The dancefloor pining doesn’t get much stronger than that. It’s a choice ride to take.

British producer Andy Ash is on a roll! His recent release for Quintessentials slaps hard and not to mention output on such respected labels as Sheffield’s Moment Cinetique, Chicago’s Still Love 4 Music, New York’s On The Prowl and Sydney’s People Must Jam. Andy Ash tracks always have this wonky edge to them which make his music stand out in the crowd and we’re pleased to welcome him back for his third release on Delusions entitled the Tiawo EP.

Kicking off this four track EP, the title track goes deep into early Chicago house territory calling to mind those incredible drum machine and synth workouts on Trax. Stripped back to just the driving 707 groove and chiming digital synths this punchy warehouse jam is just the track for those heady hours where the dance floor becomes suspended in time and the dancers are locked into the unfaltering groove.

Next up Strictly Pins goes for a minimal approach with shuffling drums, moody Detroit Rhodes chords, bass and..... that’s about it. But it grooves hard!

Burger treads a similar rhythmic and sonic path but with added trippy factor coming from a completely twisted vocal sample which is warped, cut up and processed for maximum freak-effect. Just a little insight into the mind of a madman which is both quite fun and disturbing in equal measures.

Closing out the EP we have Brother which goes for a slightly more conventional deep house sound with syncopated stabs, rolling bassline and swinging drums.

Under various pseudonyms, including Zerocks and 'N UMOH, Thomas de Quincey or Acts of Madmen, Jo Bogaert is considered to be one of the most influential artists in the Belgian new beat scene of the 1980s. He is also the man behind Technotronic and the hit track 'Pump Up the Jam'.

Serbian born, Los Angeles raised producer and DJ, Masha Mar delivers her debut EP on November 18th, inaugurating the new Southern California based imprint, Night Prism. Across the three-tracker Mar fuses elements ranging from Italo to house to dub, working with live drums alongside drum machines and synths like the Roland TR-808, Juno 60, Moog Voyager and more.

Title-cut ‘Virgil’s Dream’ leads with a feel-good disco feel merging organic percussion and a crunchy drum machine workout alongside hazy, hypnotic vocals, hooky string sequences and squelchy, acid-tinged tones. An instrumental mix is offered up to follow, laying focus on the raw drums and intricate synth work alone.

‘Extended Release’ follows next to open the B-Side, built around thunderous drums, an Italo-inspired bassline, and entrancing synths to take you on a dynamic, dance floor focused journey. Closing out the EP on a deeper tip is ‘City of Refuge’, employing an electro-leaning 808 drum groove and gnarly bass hook alongside bubbling, dubbed- out tones, ethereal vocal chants, and cinematic strings.

Kalahari Oyster Cult, hot on the heels of the La Batterie reissue, are getting right back in your grills with Liluzu's 'What's Your Star Sign?' EP.
One of the highlight of the EP is the wonderful 'Arecca (Bubble Mix)'. A big warm bass gives you a big hug while odd little percs seem to jitter around impatiently waiting for the kick drums to hit. Once they do, a mid tempo breakbeat comes in accompanying a beefy verby acid sound which carries the track long after the drums stop. 
'Arecca' is a piece of spine tingling piece of electro which reaches all the right places courtesy of Liluzu, head of the Vulcan Venti imprint, and he keeps the sound sun kissed and full of warmth. We are not even a month in and Kalahari are already killing it. This is going to be a big year!
