MoM: The Crosstown Mix Show 031

This week we are absolutely stoked to welcome The Oddness for this week's episode of interceptions. A name that is thrown around both Australia and across the globe. 

The Oddness is the project of Melbourne producer and performer Warwick Ferguson.The sound of the Oddness is Downtempo yet energetic, with punchy tribal drums and huge bass lines wrapped around the long slow burning structures of progressive house.
The Oddness Launched his live set in 2018 and has since performed at some of Australia’s premium festivals including Rainbow Serpent, Let Them Eat Cake and ChiWowWah Town. The set is full of improvisation and can go anywhere from laid back and melancholy through to a chunky, driving gut punch. 
Recently he has been joined by Multi Instrumentalists Dylan Jarred and Timmus, performing as a 3-piece band.
His first release came in early 2018 on Uone’s label Beat & Path with a huge remix from Electronic music legend Adam Freeland, quickly followed his debut album ‘Culmination’ on Griff’s new imprint Corymbia Recordings.
2019/20 saw a string of releases and remixes for labels Pipe & Pochet, SolSelectas, Shango Records, LNDKHN and Sofa Beats, as well as remixing Satin Jackets huge hit Automatic for Eskimo Recordings. 
A European tour was booked for 2020 including Boom, Noisily and Vibronica festivals, but was cancelled due to the Covid-19 situation. This led to some serious studio time culminating in his second album ‘Observations as a Stranger’ out now on Beat & Path.
In 2021, the Oddness continued to flourish, with countless new releases through labels such as Copycow, Bedrock records and The Magic Movement, just to name a few…

J'ai eu le plaisir de jouer ce set au lancement des soirées "Night with dimensions" organisées par le talentueux Alexis Simoneau (aka Alexis Noerg). Ce fût un honneur de partager la scène avec R. Vincenzo, un artiste brézilien inspirant et accompli. Une soirée avec dimension à se rappeler.

I played that set at launch parties " Night with dimensensions " organized by none other than the talented Alexis Simoneau (aka Alexis Noerg). It was an honor to share the stage with R. Vincenzo , an inspiring and accomplished artist from Brazil. What a great performance he gave us. A night with dimensions to be remembered.

MoM, DJ based out of the Andalusian city of Cordoba. His first experiences with mixing tables was back in 1989 when he was attracted by acid house music and the latest pieces on funky and disco music. His first professional experience at a DJ booth was around techno music at clubs like Teiker and Plató, two of the most renowned clubs in Cordoba.

In 1993 is when he started to listen to the first deep records through WORKS music label. During this period is when he met  a DJ with more experience, Miguel Martín who introduced him to the richness and depth of electronic music. The Spanish music label CONTRASEÑA was still publishing the latest records of electronic guitar but it also had a special connection with the dance floors through their depth.

Miguel’s influence on MoM was such, that even years after Miguel’s death in 2009, he created a radio show called “mut&mut” along with the speaker Jesús Zamora. The name of the show was a tribute to “MUT” the name of the only maxi-single published by Miguel Martín. 
MoM´s experience and creativity allowed him to take on a new professional challenge: leading Pep´s Records marketing department in Madrid.

After a few years of working and achieving good results he decides to create Carta de Ajuste Comunicación ,his own Management and Marketing agency. During this period he performed sessions in Córdoba, Sevilla, Tarifa, Caños de Meca, Marbella, Madrid, along with various cities around Spain.

His sessions are mainly based on house and tech-house but in 2009 he rediscovers his passion for deep music and starts exploring with darker sounds and slower speeds.

After a small break in the dust we are back with our series of sets recorded during our first festival The Monastery. 

We are proud to present the DJ set of our great friend AIWAA. This authentic soul never hesitate to surprise us with his music. He's been doing it for a while, actually, since the first time he met with our family during  our New Years Eve party in 2017 and, of course, in The Odd Ones Out stage in The Monastery. 

He blew us all with his amazing music and it makes us happy to be able to share this masterpiece and these moments with the world.
