In 2014 Belgium based trio Bredren presented the world with their debut LP, Trinity. The time is now nigh for their long awaited follow up, Trinity Remixed. 

Dance floor heavy weight Red Powder is first up for the remix treatment, from none other then Arkaik. The Chinese based producer took this popular number and applied the sharpest of drums sequences and intricate percussion to it. However. Arkaik has stayed true to the original growling bass, adding little touches where called for. An instant draw!

Next up is a VIP from Bredren with Infamous VIP.  The guys have re worked their half time classic into one
hell of a bouncy 2 step rhythm! The thump of the newly arranged drums is so solid that it would be hard not 
to nod your head to them. They are equally matched with a thriving sub, which is sure to get you moving in all the right directions!

Amoss were happy to step up to the plate with their take on Bredren’s 8th track from the original LP, 
Rotten. The duo turn up the heat on this already festering piece of filth by re arranging the groove of the 
drums and adding their own philosophy of bass along the way.  

Lastly but by no means surely is Gerra & Stone’s vision of Bredren’s liquid gem, High On Yourself ft. 
Manon Gögös. The pair replace the original drums with their own sequence of audio events and carve a 
modern day masterpiece out of Manon’s blissful vocals. A deep bassline is surrounded with Gerra & Stone’s own unique cutting edge sound and editing of Bredren’s sonically pleasing instrumentation, making this one the perfect combination of both worlds.

Felipe Antunes AKA ‘Young:G’ began DJing back in 2008, influenced strongly by Hip Hop, Rap, Funk, R&B, Jazz, and Reggae. In 2010 Young:G began his movements into the production scene and with it forged a distinctive identity through music. This first release on Proximity from such a fresh sounding producer is bound to turn heads.

Returning to familiar ground, Young:G opens with the bass-heavy roller Criminally Minded. The subtle variation of drums in combination with the relentless bassline works at keeping you hooked throughout and keeping your feet moving.

In Voices Of Fear Young:G serves up a driving half time riddim with a developing and experimental drum rack. It is in the quieter sections of the track which the sheer quality of production can be easily found, pulsating bass followed by white noise that creeps sinisterly closer to the abrupt drop.

Having been producing for the past few years, C-Side currently has a lot in the pipeline. If this release is representative of what is to come then there are some high expectations from us. DJing from the age of 16, C-Side has gone on to spin around London at clubs like the late great Cable, and across Europe.

Starting the proceedings, Jah features relentless driving bassline. The murkiness of the low end made grimier with the track running at half-tempo. Continuing in similar fashion, Me’ Don’t Care is a half tempo stepper. The track showcases C-Side’s mastery of low end, featuring a nausea inducing bassline with crisp clap to boot.

London based DJ/producer Goodfield stems from a vast history of music and grew up listening to Happy Hardcore, Breakbeat & Oldskool. Not long after the explosion of dance music in the UK during the early 90s, Goodfield’s ears were already tuning into the next musical phenomenon to sweep the UK, Drum & Bass.

After many a year fine-tuning his sound, Goodfield steps up to the plate with his eagerly awaited debut release, Paradox! 

Introductory proceedings open with emotional keys and all round darkness. Upon the drop we are presented with one hell of a rolling bassline, accompanied with tightly produced drums. However, never judge a book by its cover as things take a different turn on the second drop with an absolutely blinding variation of mid bass stabs, beats and subs!

ALIBI is the combined effort of two of Brazil’s finest musical exports, DJ Chap & Level 2. Both individually respected and accomplished artists in their own right, with past releases on labels such as V Recordings and Innerground Records. The pair have now joined forces to form this brand new outfit. After sending us their first works under the new alias we picked two of their strongest tracks to present to the world as their debut release, Silhouette / Restless.

Silhouette is a silky smooth number with a deep edge. Catchy beats form the intro along with old skool sounding pads. Growling mid basses start to automate in towards the drop upon which we are treated to low subs and sublime vocal snippets.

On the flip we have Restless. A more of a bouncing affair here as ALIBI take us on a journey full of twisted bass, tightly produced beats and mystical soundscapes. 

Taking into account their past achievements as individual artists we strongly believe that this single is just the tip of the iceberg for ALIBI and we are proud to sign this new and exciting act!

Their first full release together on Dispatch, the mighty pairing of Philth & Wreckless join forces on the ‘Heimlich EP’. 

Hoisting together some serious hurters in the past such as ‘The Circle’, one studio session took a turn for the worst when Philth inadvertently choked on a piece of steak. Wreckless quickly came to the rescue, performing a well-timed Heimlich maneuver to save the day and thus, the ‘Heimlich EP’ was born (true story!).

Bristolian Stephen Redmore, known through his drum & bass alias Mako, is finally set to unleash his forthcoming LP on Metalheadz, something which he’s been working on behind the scenes for some time. The label head of Utopia is well known for his slick production and penchant for underground anthems, something which has been seen again and again on his own imprint, as well as across a plethora of labels which have acted as pillars for the drum & bass world. Having already made his presence felt before within the catalogue of Metalheadz, as well as Break’s Symmetry Recordings, Dispatch, Soul:R and Samurai Music, he’s a valuable part of the genre’s make up, which is why the announcement of his forthcoming LP ignited widespread anticipation.

Directly translated to ‘a body of art’, Mako’s LP ‘Oeuvre’ is representative of his life’s work in music production. The switching breaks of ‘Heartstone’, slamming, yet eerily hollowed snares of ‘Offline’ and grinding bassline of ‘Life Cycle’ alongside the late Andy Skopes, a testament to the legacy he left behind, set the tone. Meanwhile, Villem and Fields join Mako for the LP’s next collaboration ‘Liquid Groover’ before the emotive swelling build of ‘The Window’ gives way to a second drop beat switch up, continuing the journey. ‘Flip it’ has already been doing the club rounds, as the moody Photek atmospherics of ‘One Reality’ and more affectional twists of ‘Holding You’ adds to the tracklist’s versatility.

‘The Scenic Values’ underscores Mako’s love of Krust and Doc Scott production grooves, whilst the experimental soundscape of ‘Hoxton Home’ heralds back to old Lemon D. ‘Oh Really’ finishes the album’s more club-orientated offerings, which follows with a 170bpm techno style track via ‘Passive Aggressor’. ‘Oeuvre’ is a walkthrough of Mako’s many personalities as a musician and it finds a welcome home within Metalheadz’s historic discography.
