Seven years deep into the belly of the beast, Vienna-based Belly Dance Services return with a globe-spanning exercise. Their latest V/A enlists eight world-class producers for a jet-lagged journey through modular mischief and transcontinental club psychedelia. It's less a compilation, more a clandestine meeting of audio agents plotting a reroute of global frequencies...For our premiere, we shine a light on Globemaster’s 'Irritilas' – a slow-motion chugger that feels like it’s been smuggled out of some sacred dance ceremony deep in the Sierra Madre. Built at a slo mo 110 BPM pace, it slinks through your psyche with rubbery bass, ritualistic percussion and arpeggios that glisten like morning dew on obsidian. The breakdown hits like hallucinatory visions, conjuring forgotten myths and almost-extinct cultures via a sequencer of infectious arpeggios.

Globemaster - Irritilas [Belly Dance Services]

A few months ago, during a conversation about musical identity, a phrase was mentioned that deeply resonated with me: "You can't wait for a cloudy day to compose." This idea reminded me of a quote by Aaron Copland: "You wait for inspiration every day, but that in no way implies passively waiting for divine breath." These words have guided my journey in the search for a sound and, perhaps, in continuing to find myself. Sometimes I feel like I've finally found it, but other times, everything seems so strange. However, I keep going because, in the end, that's what it's all about, right?

There were many attempts, many months of working and creating, listening and discovering. Occasionally, I managed to create an intimate atmosphere, perfect for producing sounds that reinforced the idea of unforgettable parties and unexpected moments—playing with sonic dualities, crafting bright soundscapes that later turned dark; a reflection of evolution and feelings that have shifted over time, moments of introspection, and danceable rhythms. Every track in this volume aims to reach you at the perfect moment, striving to offer a pleasant sonic journey where each track evokes emotions and memories you may have thought were long forgotten.
