2021 and another year done… omicron surging through my veins as i write this. Man, every year we ask the team to send us their tracks at Halloween and every year we’re chopping and changing moments before launch. But that’s how it’s gotta be and that’s what’s so vital about this series, now in its 12th year. This never gets more relaxed. We should probably be spending this time of year chilling out and reflecting on what’s coming over the horizon but vinyl lead times already got us making records for July. It’s like the digital and the physical world are pulling further and further apart.

We hope you love this compilation as much as we do. Thanks to the artists and everyone involved in getting this together. The dots in Asia are connecting in a big way - we are extremely pleased to announce that Howie Lee has officially joined the DTW roster. It couldn't have happened at a better time, as we seek to forge closer ties with like-minded collectives in this particular region. 
Howie needs very little introduction. With his Do Hits imprint on the rise,  he has become one of the leading exponents of the rising electronic music scene in China. Releases on Trapdoor, Alpha Pup and the like have demonstrated his unique abilities in creating intricate soundscapes with clever sampling of traditional Chinese musical forms. His Boiler Room performance with drummer Zhang Yang was one of the highlights this year, and the progressive artist is constantly on the grind - truly an inspiration to us at the HQ.

'Sinmai' is a late night banger that is percussion-heavy and samples snippets of a hilariously iconic telephone exchange which took place on Singapore radio airwaves. It's a little tribute to the colourful urbanscape of SIngapore and its street language 'Singlish.
