DGTL isn't that far away anymore, so to get you into the right mood we have another podcast that will make the waiting a little easier. This time around another killer mix for ya by our very own resident Prunk. The man who has house music flowing through his veins has been keeping rather busy: like releasing his latest EP, 'Make U Crazy' on DoubleTree Records, or his successful 'Disluv' collaboration with Pony that came out a few months back. In Zurich he'll play at the Electronique label night this week, and starting from 29th of March he will have his own night at Chicago Social Club called 'Prunk Invites', of which the first will feature Shur-I-Khan. Some more surprises lie ahead with info coming out soon, and of course he will be at the decks at the anticipated DGTL Festival, where he stole the show last year. Here's a little taste of what to expect..

A lot of unreleased music in this mix, perhaps a bit more techie than you are used to from me, but I always try to adapt to the concept, of course with a houssy touch.

As a teenager, Prunk consistently found himself  attracted to the deep and jackin’ sounds of US house, particularly that of Mark Farina.  Despite this interest, he also continued his search for the deeper and better beats the international house scene had to offer. Soon after, he started to do some studio work himself and today's premiere was born.

Today, we premiere an exclusive Prunk original entitled, Another Vibe.  With a swelling vibe, sultry vocals, and staccatoed piano chords, it is no wonder why premiere London based house destination City Soul Recordings enthusiastically signed on to the track.

Coming off the front of a prolific 2016, PIV label owner and former DHA crew member Prunk provides an exclusive podcast for his PIV label night w/ Fred Everything.

Locked in as a Resident DJ for major Dutch festivals such as DGTL and Straf_Werk, Prunk has also setup periodic PIV club nights at Chicago Social Club and De Marktkantine, including a few PIV nights in the emerging rave-paradise of Malta. PIV has been up and running since the eve of 2015, with a steady flow of releases along the way. Already featured on the label are artists such as Roland Nights, Chris Stussy and Yusuke Yamamoto, with more to come in 2016.

For our 7th EP we welcome Houston, Texas based producer Lucas Keizer to the PIV family. The title track 'Kampung' shows off his love for the deeper sides of house, while 'Old Fashioned' creates that late night jazzy vibe. "Bon appetit" feels like having breakfast in the Paris of days gone by and 'Jalan Jalan" completes the package with a range of deep atmospheric sounds.

PIV Records turns up the heat with their first collaboration EP by Prunk and Chris Stussy on the label.

The first cut "Tunnelvision" kicks off with a bassline that rolls like a '67 Mustang, while smooth vocal cuts and very orientated percussion sounds drive through your soul. With "Polar" they go deeper, combining hard kicks, dirty swinging snares and hi hats. This track borrows some influence from the late 90s.

Title track "Brooklyn Tears" is made for creating epic moments on the dancefloor and will definitely take you to higher places. As a special treat on this vinyl release, they have made a special dub version for the vinyl heads. The dub track is deep, perfect for the early warm up vibes but will add action to the dancefloor.

Last but not least it's "That Groove" that finishes this EP, the long-awaited club track everyone has been waiting for, just for the digital DJ's amongst us.

Amsterdam house label PIV Records ADE Sampler finds the label showcasing their exciting sound with four fresh cuts from label artists Ben Rau, Prunk, Chris Stussy and Bas Roos.

Man of the moment Ben Rau goes first and again shows off his slick drum programming skills with No Walls. It’s a bristling and bubbling number with woody kicks and clean hits forcing you to dance. Woozy chords and 303 licks add to the overall deepness and carry you away into the night. 

Luxury is a more upbeat house number but one with spacious cosmic vibes and fluttering snares. It’s sci-fi and soothing as well as being nice and dynamic.

Listen to Her from Chris Stussy is another fresh effort with grooving drums and synths all gliding along in smoothly seductive fashion. It’s cerebral and atmospheric and cannot fail to get you moving. 

Lastly, Nuyorican Jam is more zoned out and horizontal, with jumbled percussion and crowd noises as well as spoken word
samples all creating a nice cosy house party vibe.

This is a tasteful sampler that really shows off the classy house sound PIV is known for.

In addition to label’s ongoing stream of digital releases, the PIV Records limited series serves as a platform for the more deep groovy cuts, especially suited for the dancefloor. The series will be curated by the label’s prolific frontrunners Prunk and Chris Stussy, who represent the new generation of artistry in Amsterdam’s lively housemusic scene.

Starting off on this first release, Berlin based duo The Willers Brothers, deliver two very strong originals on the A-side. On the B-flipside, Nick Beringer and Mike Sharon put their craft on the remixes to complete an allround debut package.

After a successful collaboration between Pleinvrees & Straf_werk at ADE it was now time to create something new. With names such as Ame, Joy Orbison, Agoria, Damian Lazarus, Oliver Koletzki, Huxley, HNQO, Prunk and Dj Koze DGTL sets out a line up that shows talent, diversity and high quality electronic music in general.

Prunk is a Dutch DJ/ producer and owner of PIV Records. PIV club nights are organised in venues as Chicago Social Club, Marktkantine and Claire. Prunk is a STRAF_WERK and DGTL regular.

DJ/producer Prunk is working at his own pace, but this doesn’t mean he’s taking things slow. His label PIV, which he started in 2015, has been steadily releasing EP’s, like his own production ‘Sexy Brasil’ that was released on the imprint in the spring of 2016. Together with his sparring partner Chris Stussy, Prunk released the ‘Material’ EP on EWax in the winter of 2016 and the two also released ‘The Machine’ EP that came out on the notorious Nervous Records and EP’s on Moulton and Innercity Records. These EP’s caught the attention of vocalist Alex Mills, who you can hear on Miguel Campbell’s hit Something Special. Prunk and Mills hooked up in the studio with No Cure as a result. Other labels Prunk has released records on are: Electronique, City Soul and King Street.
Next to producing Prunk is a resident STRAF_WERK and he is a regular at DGTL and Jenja (Bali), has played in Monaco, Barcelona, Zürich, Lille, São Paulo, Ibiza and at Awakenings Festival. His warm and sexy, but always dancefloor orientated and uplifting sound that finds its influences in artists like Kerri Chandler, Djebali, Mark Farina and Mr Ks is definitely attracting attention from promoters.
After editions at Chicago Social Club and De Marktkantine Prunk’s PIV Label night has moved to Amsterdam’s freshest club Claire and already had an impressive first edition in April. Prunk will also host a PIV stage at The Ark, a cruise that will take-off from Barcelona sets sail to Ibiza. In 2018 you can see Prunk play at the following festivals: The Hole Festival Brazil,  Awakenings Festival, Welcome to the Future, Straf_werk Festival, , Amsterdam Open Air and Extrema Festival.
