For this project - an open call for 60 second drones - I worked with a cellular automata system to create 'alive' modulation over a single, constant tone.

  This was made in 2008 for a theatre project based on the opera L'Orfeo. After the initial cacophony, welcoming Orpheus to the madness of hell, the track becomes more inverted and womblike as the ferry embarks to the belly of the underworld.

This was made in 2008 for a theatre project based on the opera L'Orfeo.

  This is the fatal moment where Orpheus looks back on his love, and everything he worked for is undone. The audio cues and themes used throughout the underworld section of Orpheus' journey come together, invoking the sense of culmination of the preceding events.

"Ice & Metabolism" in Danish. Because, you know, why not.

Working with a cellular automata system to augment and 'metabolise' a musical improvisation. For kicks, I layered another automata system on top to metabolise the output. Kind of like how a cow has two stomachs. Delicious.
