Eponymous constellation

I'm fighting with this track for a long time now. First drafts were created back in 2018 august. At the moment it was a post-rock / progressive rock epic that included every trick and practice i knew about music composition. Then i stopped writing music for a few years and it stayed in it's unreleased demo form for long.

Since last year i started this new electronic project, i thought some of my older, unrealised music should be repurposed to finally come to life. I pictured it will be a quite easy task.

Well, it was an extremely hard undertaking for me to strip this one to it's bare minimums and reshape it into a more ambient / chillout sounding thingy. But i learned so much about music and myself along the way...
I've written and erased melodies and chords in this track for so long that i could have written a whole album from the deleted ideas only.

The cover art is a Midjourney generated image with a strong influence from The Fountain (2006), a movie in which a man learns to let things go and embrace fate after a 500 years long journey. I think it is rather fitting.

I was asked to compose a track for Space Sounds Records' compilation album Summer in Space. So I put my upcoming album on hold and created this track specifically for the compilation.
I hope it gives you Proxyon vibes, as it's meant to be a tribute. I used the same kind of equipment they used back then, except for the LinnDrum.
