"In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of offenses, according to the riches of His grace, Which He caused to abound to us in all wisdom and prudence," (Ephesians 1:7-8)

"That He might display in the ages to come the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." (Ephesians 2:7)

God’s grace is not only rich (v. 7) but also abounding (v. 8). The riches of God’s grace have been caused to abound to us, on the one hand, in all wisdom for God’s plan in eternity and, on the other hand, in all prudence for God’s execution of His plan in time. God’s abounding grace...accomplishes the heading up of all things in Christ (v. 10), makes us an inheritance to God (v. 11), and qualifies us to inherit all that God is (v. 14). (The Conclusion of the New Testament, pp. 3339-3340)

I'm a sinner without one plea

How long has it been since you talked with the Lord?
And told Him your heart's hidden secret.
How long since you prayed?
How long since you stayed
On your knees till the light shone through?
How long has it been since your mind felt at ease?
How long since your heart knew no burden?
Can you call Him your friend?
How long has it been since you knew that He cared for you?

One of the earliest hymns that my parents taught me, and I still sing it to this day. This hymn is such a loving reminder that no matter how heavy the burden we feel within, we can tell the Lord. Do you have a deep and hidden secret? Tell Him. Is your mind uneasy? Tell Him. Is your heart heavily burdened? It matters to Him concerning us!

Many people think we need to be something or someone before we can approach God, but the Lord became a Friend so that He can come to us. He is willing to approach us and comfort us. We simply need to let Him. I hope this hymn comforts you, too, in a time that you need comforting. He is the God of all comfort.
