pseudo-antigone is the musical production moniker for interdisciplinary artist Simone A. Medina Polo, a mestizo trans producer based out of Edmonton, Alberta. At the beginning of 2021, pseudo-antigone debuted her brand of emotional hyperpop with the release of “Things are sinking in.”

Shortly after, she teased several singles for her upcoming full-length record Into the Void of Infinite Sadness including: “54 Letters (Freudian Slips),” “Everything you made me do,” and “Sigma Male.”

Into the Void of Infinite Sadness is pseudo-antigone’s first full-length record which continues the artist’s early exploration of their development as a producer. IVIS takes a multi-faceted look at various vignettes of the last year living under the pandemic. The artist reflects on the pandemic itself, the personal and interpersonal transformations lived through it, the institutional frustrations perpetuating it, the comforts found in the midst of it, the moments right before it, as well as the constant restless it inspires. Ambitious in its wide-ranging sound and collective spirit, pseudo-antigone’s IVIS aims at compassionate and playful space to revisit these scenes that have radically changed everyday life. IVIS will be released through the independent record label Pyric Gestures on May 7th, 2021.

Into the Void of Infinite Remix is a remix compilation that started as multiple remixes of "54 Letters" from the original album with the hope they could be used to pester the administration at MacEwan University for its lack of response and action with regards to accounts of systematic racism across its departments. Since, the project has extended in scope to include several remixes of tracks from the original record featuring producers across Canada and the U.S.

Into the Void of Infinite Remix will be released through the collective record label Pyric Gestures on October 22nd, 2021.

Her sound draws influence from contemporary pop figures like Dorian Electra, Charli XCX, Black Dresses, BLACKSTARKIDS, 100 gecs, and A.G. Cook.
