A mixtape for nightly wanderings within four walls in the age of Covid-19. Where our homes and our bodies can act simultaneously like a prison and a haven from the outside world. Where fever, quarantine and physical isolation collide with comfort, human connection and emotional escapism. Oscillating between pressure and relief, we find ourselves suspend between these two conflicting states of being.

Dawn Chorus & Dusk Crickets

A mixtape for the quiet hours, with a selection of songs Storm Stereo picked up or rediscovered along her recent travels, and accompanied by the sounds of evening crickets and a Mediterranean dawn chorus. Featuring moving canciones from Spain and Guatemala, current Icelandic indie folk, a few old "laika" gems as heard on Greek radio, contemporary chansons with an African twist from Cameroon and Senegal, and a couple easy-breezy tunes from Brazil. Kicking it all off with some “Apricots”, this year's best summer jam from Northern Ireland, featuring a sample of traditional Malawian singers recorded and released by the English ethnomusicologist Hugh Tracey.

In this two-part show, we pay tribute to the recently lost pioneering composer and synth master, Klaus Schulze. Memorable for his expansive, spacey compositions and his astounding discography, spanning over 60 albums, we listen to some of his own (shorter) tracks, plus some of his work with Tangerine Dream and Ashra Temple, alongside collaborations with The Cosmic Jokers and Lisa Gerard of Dead Can Dance.

Monthly mixtapes for mixed moods, spanning genres, decades and styles. To showcase a scene or sound, create an atmosphere, or focus on a creator, concept or moment in time. 

Storm Stereo started out in 2016 out of a love for the connective power of radio. With an irregular frequency at first, now in its second year of monthly shows, it follows an experiential trajectory as a means of personal expression.

ΨΗΧΟΣ | PSICHOS
ΨΗΧΟΣ is a collage project using field recordings, and mixing elements of musique concréte, audio narration and sound art. The first EP, Orchestra of Noise, is a collection of field recordings recorded between 2017 and 2018, with sounds from Athens, Trikala at Easter, Meteora mountain monasteries, Partheni village in Arkadia, Prague and more. The name joins the Greek words for "cold" (ψύχος) and "sound" (ήχος).
New album in the works, set for release Summer 2025, with field recordings made from 2018-2025, from Iceland and Greece.
