His highly cinematic universe is reminiscent of an expedition to unknown territories, where untouched nature reigns calmly. Mostly connected with the lysergic festival circuit, Don Pepe has always refused to be pigeonholed, often labeling his diverse sound palette as “Travel Music”, plain and simple. Old, New, or Timeless – as long as the music is authentic, groovy, and transcendent, Pepe will share it, in one context or another. Having been a borderless “adventurer” in his youth, music is today his way to channel this “divine fool” archetype constructively.

His productions tend to have a similar non-conformist feel, often flirting with certain schools of sound, yet always staying outside looking in. Most notorious is his collaborative Pepe’s Bodega project, of which the debut LP “La Chorrera” from 2023 has been universally praised for its coherent concept and uncompromising danceability. The studio is currently boiling – stay tuned!

This turned out to be a bigger project than I realised. It's a mix of the ambient parts of Ozric Tentacles' tracks. It doesn't cover all of their tracks. Their discography is just too big and some parts I couldn't get to fit with the flow. The mix starts off quite tribal but progressess into beatless ambient. Timistamping everything is too challenging as some parts overlap and fade out and back in again. The shortest sample is around 2 seconds and others are full tracks. Anyway, here's the tracklist:

About Mahiane:

Dj, arranger, publisher, co-founder and manager of Ultimae records , Sandrine Gryson aka Mahiane explores music genres since 1985 and developped a keen ear and heart for atmospheric ambient, floating and organic sounds, idm, glitch, progressive techno and deep electro breakbeat; she occasionaly participates to projects such as Aes Dana project or Subgardens.
