Mother of Whomp Annx (@annx-anna-whomp) has invited Lyon-based Subsism (@subsism): DJ, producer and co-founder of the ATOM collective for the latest edition of ‘The Sound of Whomp’. 

Subsim has put together an infectious hour of pumping froggy psy showing his eclectic selection across trance, breaks and bass. 

Checkout his debut EP on Matiere, a contribution on the fiery Crazed Behaviour label, and more to come, Subsism has not finished making a name for himself in France and beyond. Thanks for the rocket ship ride!

Her name stems from the Turkish word for “different”, and @BASHKKA certainly is a uniquely captivating spirit. Her own true incarnation has been shaped by living a decade in New York; being inspired by “the wonderful POC Trans-women” of the Ballroom Scene, BASHKKA’s music serves and represents nothing less than “CUNT!” on the floor. The sensorial mix BASHKKA has put together for Skuggan is full of texture and rhythm patterns, bringing ultra-modern Future Sound of London-vibes to mind. Enjoy!

Bringing a touch of class to Juncyard Sessions, we are delighted to introduce Aquamarine (she/her)who brings some of her favourite melodies, from tried-and-true belters to brand new releases.

Inspired by the summer, the rave spirit, blissed-out moments dancing under the sun, and nostalgia for 90s trance and progressive house, we were blown away by her stunning sound and impeccable mixing. 

Richie Blacker’s Rave Spirit Remix of Gypsy’s 1992 classic 'I Trance You' sets the tone for this mix, which is dedicated to the producers preserving the magic of that era in the present day. Trust us when we say, you are in for a treat!!!

Kitsta w/ Aquamarine - August 2023

Musical trends are nothing more than waves that rise and fall according to fashions, desires and inspirations.
The current trend towards progressive house, mental techno and goa trance, for example, is merely a recuperation of initiatives launched in the 90s. Yet we're improving the sound, making it more modern and reappropriating it to suit our generation.

The two artists featured on this latest issue of tdt are all in love with paying tribute to those famous years, and they do it particularly well. They are the very reason why we continue to look to the past to produce a present that strives to do better.

Both club-oriented and at the same time introspective and intimate, the worlds of Pjenne and Jolly encourage exploration, and that's exactly what we're interested in here!
