Hello everyone and thank you for checking out my Audasmic 1st Birthday Celebration Psytrance Mix.
I was booked to play at Eiger Studios in Leeds on the 27th January for Audasmic's birthday celebrations. Unfortunately I couldn't travel up for health reasons and missed the party :( Big thanks to Audasmic for being very understanding.

The night was billed with 3 rooms of multi genre Trance, Psy, Hard House and Hard Dance. From what I have seen and heard since, it went off big style \o/
This is the set I imagined playing for my slot in the Psy Room. I am sad I couldn't play it live but I am hoping you listen and enjoy it here on @soundcloud

When the first signal of their arrival was detected, the world held its breath. The ship, gleaming like a metallic moon, descended upon the plains outside Reykjavik. The initial panic was soon replaced by fascination as the inhabitants of the ship, beings with slender forms and skin that shimmered in ethereal hues, stepped forward to greet humanity. They were known as the Helioids, travelers from a distant star system who communicated through music.

Their initial interactions were awkward, with traditional languages failing to convey complex ideas. But then, a slender Helioid, named Ithera, produced a small, glowing device and tapped it. A pulsating beat filled the air, resonating through the plains. Waves of rhythm intertwined with melodies like spirals of light, flowing with a hypnotic energy. The humans surrounding the ship stood transfixed.

The Helioids called this sound "Trilia," and for them, it was a celebration of the cosmos. Every beat mimicked the pulsing of stars, each melody the orbit of planets. The humans who listened felt themselves transcending earthly worries, losing themselves in swirling sonic colors that opened new dimensions of the mind. It was unlike anything humanity had heard.

The Helioids explained that Trilia was a communal expression, and they invited humans to dance with them, to feel the rhythm flow through their bodies and minds. Within weeks, Trilia had spread across continents. Musicians adapted their instruments to replicate the Helioid beats, while electronic artists experimented with new synthesizers to capture the cosmic melodies.

Soon, festivals sprung up worldwide, with people gathering under shimmering lights to dance for days to the trance-like, psychedelic beats. The music united them across cultures, offering a universal language that transcended barriers and dissolved differences. Trilia became the soundtrack of a new era, a music that encouraged peace, exploration, and a shared sense of wonder.

The Helioids eventually departed, leaving behind only their musical gift and memories of their visit. They promised to return when humanity was ready for the next stage of cosmic understanding. Meanwhile, the world continued to groove to the ethereal beats, finding joy and unity in the trance of Trilia, the new universal sound.

Mark has been a fan of all forms of electronic music since he was a teenager. He discovered Psytrance in 2005 and while he was travelling the world in his cruising career he made a point of keeping up with the latest developments in the psy world. 

When he returned to the UK in 2020 he was determined to make his dreams of dominating the country’s dance floors come to life. Known for his slick mixing and intuitive track selections, he keeps the dance floor grooving to a variety of styles including psytechno, progressive and funky full on Psytrance.

He has been dabbling in music production over the last few years, is a resident DJ for Psychonauts in Birmingham, runs a successful club night in Glasgow called Psychedelic Odyssey, and is launching the London edition in February 2024.
