Mindspring Music presents: Psybur & Cosmic Sidekick - Into The Fernhole [MSM140]

Psybur & Cosmic Sidekick, two kindred spirits bound by their obsession for acid leads, formant filters, and a tight low-end, spend countless nights sending files through the datasphere. One fateful evening, as they worked on their latest track, “Full-On Fantasia” a strange, verdant glow enveloped their studios. The internet connection began to warp and distort, drawing them into a swirling vortex. "What's happening, dude?" Cosmic Sidekick asked, his voice delayed by the glitching connection. "The Fernhole!" Psybur exclaimed, his studio disappearing into the digital abyss. The friends found themselves transported to a wormhole composed of vibrant, emerald ferns. The Fernhole's energy harmonized their instruments, creating an otherworldly sound. Fronds of ferns swayed in rhythm, generating a hypnotic energy field. As they jammed within the Fernhole, Psybur and Cosmic Sidekick discovered new, fantastical instruments: the Fernulator, the SporeDrum, and the LeafSynth. Their music nurtured the cosmic flora, and the Fernhole responded by expanding their creative possibilities.

At the tail end of September, 2024, Hurricane Helene devastated the Southeast United States, wreaking immeasurable loss and devastation in Western North Carolina. Not a single person in our community was untouched by this disaster; through death, loss of housing, innumerable damages, loss of power, water, food accessibility, cellular network, employment, and more. The effects of the crisis remain ongoing, and the landscape of the Blue Ridge Mountains has been changed forever. 

• • • In response, psytrance friends from across the world have come together to donate their talents to this special compilation VA album presented by TOUCH Samadhi. These exceptional artists each have heartfelt ties to the lower Appalachian region and have lovingly offered their time and skill to help in the efforts to rebuild. 

••• All profits from this release will be donated to BeLoved Asheville, one of the largest grassroots nonprofits in the area who were among the first to mobilize a response providing crucial food, water, and supplies in staggering numbers to the Buncombe County region and surrounding relief efforts.
